Well did you fly today post videos here

Not much flying as hit a magpie bird. No damage apart from a cracked prop on a sk450. Magpie fell out of the sky but came good in the end. So everyone's happy

Hi Rav, there must be a nest near by this is a common problem with flying never had this with my quad but 2 of my Helis have been attacked but with a single blade lengh of 425mm and 2 spinning at 2000rpm they dont last long just lots of feathers sad to say
even this one running at 1750 they dont last, I think the 700mm quad is so big they stay clear

Nice Copter holtneil!

You would think the noise would frighten them away. An osprey went for my 500mm one time, but as soon as he got close he retreated which gave me enough time to drop it. I stay away from them now that I know they are aggressive like that.

yep, I think it's mobbing behaviour - small birds will often swoop on and attack birds of prey to frighten them off. I've had swallows try to do it to mine, took some fancy flying to get away and not slice the swallow in half.

I hit a bumblebee in flight, dropped it instantly. Felt very guilty afterwards.

I went to test out my repaired parts, and thought i would strap my gopro to the front roughly just to see what it looks like flying around. it fell off just at the end but i had fun. low sun and high wind so i was a little nervous/crap haha.
i went out again today and flew FPV for the first time, and enjoyed it a lot! even after a small cart wheel (feed dropped out through bush i was going around).
i had to get the soldering iron out for the fist time in years as the antenna snapped the mount onto the fatshark transmitter. all fixed now and added another tail light for orientation.
not a bad day considering ive been off work with sickness/gall bladder/appendix problems (taking my mind of the pain now i can stand up) and the missus is 5 days over due haha.

Got out for the first time since my daughter was born. Freezing and a little wind but had the chance so I ran with it. Only 3 batteries but I tried out my quanum FPV goggles, found it really fun. Wasn't hard to fly through them at all. Not sure what the expensive ones could give you that these can't.
Then I tried the return to home function for the first time (seeing as I had goggles and could see where it was going). Very nervous watched it come over after climbing, it stopped even with a tail wind, then landed half a meter from where I set off! Glad it works but not gonna try it again for a bit. Haha. No vids this time.

Hahah, are you using the Quantum V2 or the original Quantum goggles? Your going to have to get a Runcam or something so that you can record your flights hahaha. It is almost as fun to watch you recorded flights as it is to fly hahaha.

Got the v2. I was only flying around a field so not seen what they are like around branches etc but looking forward to it. I found it odd that as soon as the quad was off perfectly level the picture went less colourful. I got some better antennas to try though.
Defo, I want something as my old gopro is a bit heavy and cost more than I want to fall off. I don't want top spec one, something a little cheaper, got any suggestions? Before I lose a few hours getting confused reading reviews and hours of YouTube? Haha

It most likely in your receiver or antenna, also a camera with WDR is helpful in darker situations. I have a set of the V1 and was really excited to see all the changes in the V2 hahaha. It fixed all of the problems that I had listed. They really listened to the user input when designing the second set it seems.
