Overlapping Props

Agreed. I was addressing the kind of quads most common to our hobby and ONLY the mechanics of how the different designs accomplish their goals. NOT the electronics or the mixing of different props and motors. Nothing exotic. Just regular ol' quads.
To plug and play with a regular old FCB all that matters is that you can draw lines connecting the 4 motors and the angle of the intercepting lines be 90 degrees, though balance is important too haha. I know how much you love the math/processing side of programming quads hahaha

Go ahead and laugh, but I have plugged in a KK2 , told it the basics and then flew perfectly fine on the factory settings. Proof that ya don't have to program a damn thing to fly and have fun. Just keep 'er square. Hahaha!!
Just 'cause I can't spell "maff" or "prawsessin'" is no reason to make fun o' me!

We are all good at something, just different areas hahaha.

I appreciate all of the comments, and it sounds like a small amount of overlap will be just fine. I will have 15 inch props just in-case there is a stability issue. The kit (dji e1200 standard)I am looking at comes with 17 inch props anyway. If neither work out then I will move to the e800 version with 13 inch props.

I may not get to find out now. I just measured and these would extend the existing arms enough to provide about half an inch clearance if my measurements are correct. I already had one so I only needed 3 more. o_O Come on mail!

Hahahaha, that sounds great.

No it always helps some one else , any way bull nose props fly really well , even better if you can duct them , was toying with getting 4 x fan ducted jet motors and mount them on a quad

I thought you were kidding. I have heard about people doing that but I didn't know HK had a tool.
On your jet motors, can they change speed fast enough to work on a quad? How about lifting power? I know they can generate lots of thrust to move a plane quickly with the wings generating the lift.

Looks like my measurements were correct :)

These motors are huge! It looks weird with such large motors. They will not fit the motor mount without modification.
