Sky drone pro battery connection

Hi Everyone,
I'm brand new to the forum but have a question already. I've gone out and bought a sky drone pro with the intent of getting used to this before upgrading to something like a DJI phantom 3.
I have an intelligent battery charger which I use for the lipo's I already have for my heli's but I cannot identify the connector on the lipo from this drone so unable to get the correct adaptor to connect to the balanced charging plate?
The charging plate has deans male connectors.
Have included a pic.Battery and Connectors.jpg

Thanks in advance for any helpBattery and Connectors.jpg

Hi Nick! Welcome to the forum. That connector is called an HXT. It comes in both 4mm and 6mm. I'm sure yours is 4mm. You can buy a connector and solder a wire lead on and bananas to fit your charger. Since you are planning on eventually building a quad anyway you could buy a pack of male/female 4mm bullets. Some 12ga silicone wire and some heat shrink and make your own charging cable. You'll use the rest of it on your build.

Hi and thanks for the reply but all the HXT connectors I've seen have one pin which I assume is the male and a pin slot again I assume being the female. This connector on my battery has two pins so surely I need a connector with two pin slots and this is what I cant find

Haha my eyesight isn't what it used to be either :)

It could well be an EC3 but what threw me was the colour as all the EC3's ive seen are all blue and the HXT's are red.
Cant see any harm in trying it.

It is actually neither! hahaha It is supposed to be an HXT, but it was done wrong. Below is how it was supposed to be, but they did not do it standard, now they can be forced o work with EC3 connectors when soldered like this, but I'd suggest you just get some XT30 or XT60 connectors and forget about these. They followed no standards when doing this haha, if anything you put the female end on the power side hahaha.

Thanks for that :)

Think i'll just cut the damned thing off and solder on a known connector, one which is common to the rest of my cables and charger.

Thanks guys ;)

That is what I suggest hahaha. Have you ever soldered a batter connector on before? If so this is going to sound like common sense, but these LiPo batteries are powerful when shorted, so one at a time and NEVER have two uninsulated at one time.

Yep got that thanks :) I do have a lot of experience of soldering and yes I know about the danger of shorting out the battery.

Again thanks for the help and your concern
