Naze 32 and Turnigy i6 Setup problems

Hi,

New to the forum and to Quads, but not to the Rc World.

I am hoping there is someone out there that can give me a little advice. I have built my new ZMR 250 following Bruce's instructions over at RC model reviews. The build has gone well but I am stumped with the following.

I am using a Turnigy/Flysky i6 with ia6 RX. I have connected the RX to the Naze with all wires using the breakout cable and I have checked and double checked the connections. Power and ground to pins 1 and 2 naze and signal wires only progressively through to channel 5. I have also confirmed that Cleanflight is configured to use PWM. RX bound and Airplane /glider type selected.

The prob I have in clean flight is that, on the receiver tab the channels are showing, Yaw and throttle are working as they should but Roll and pitch seem to be locked together and only work in one direction. If I push the rh stick up, nothing happens and if I push it left, nothing happens. I do get movement in other directions but bot the roll and pitch moved at the same time. It is almost like there is some kind of mixing going on... but there isn't.

Here is what I have done thus far.

  • Setup midpoints
  • Setup Endpoints
  • Wiped the TX to factory, cleared all models
  • Double checked that no mixes are on
  • Flashed the Naze twice
  • Tried cleanflight and baseflight
  • Tried a different TX/RX combo ( Ruling out the turnigy i6??)
  • Tried various different MAPS in the CLI
  • Banged my head against the wall!!!

I have uploaded a video for anyone that fancies giving me a guiding hand. Sorry about the quality of the I6 screen and video but hopefully you can get the idea.

Thank you all in advance

Have you made sure that the Tx and Rx are bound?

Also if I can't help @Delboy has a Naze32 and may be able to help.
Hi, Thanks for the prompt reply. Yes deffo bound as I get a response in GUI and the quad lifts off ground, Just wont roll left or pitch back. I was convinced it was a TX issue but same outcome with another 4 ch tx/rx. I am thinking maybe some kind of custom mix activated in Cleanflight. Or poss faulty board. Thanks again

Yes, Values change but they change in tandem. It seems to not make any diff what mode im select. Roll and Pitch move the exact same. If I create a mix on channel one and set master and slave to 100% I can get the values to go down to 1000 on left roll but roll and pitch still move together

Do you reckon it is feasible that there is an internal short or fault that is somehow bridging channels 1 and 2. I wouldnt be the first time that I have had a faulty item from HK.lol. Just wondering if I could bypass channel and remap

Firstly, I would like to thank GJH105775 for your advice.
I have managed to solve the problem, well at least "Paper over the crack". It occurred to me that it could just be either ch1 or 2 or both acting up. So I decided to remap ch1 and 2 to AUX 3 and 4 and remap the other channels respectively. It meant pulling the pin headers out of the breakout cable and re-assigning them. Leaving power and ground in the first 2 pins.
I then configured a map 34EATR12 in the CLI, meaning channels 1 and 2 were mapped to Aux 3 and 4 elevator to channel 3 Aileron to channel 4, thottle to 5, rudder t0 6 and aux 1 to 7 ( 3 pos switch for flight modes) 8 Aux 2.. re-booted and presto.... independant channels again.....
