Also also, just throwing a few more out there since not things I was aware existed until a few years ago, you can get network over power lines where you get better than wireless transmission by sending data through your power lines in a house and having intelligent little decoders on the end that can filter out the data from the power noise. The opposite also exists with "PoE" or power over ethernet where regular network lines, I think CAT5E at least or CAT6 cables can carry like 15-30W per device depending on the spec (usually used to power phones or security cams, but with more advanced gadgets getting more efficient you could potentially power more devices off of that directly where running more substantial power is otherwise an issue)
