Will my Pixel 4a with android 11 and 4G cause a problem in pairing?

I am definitely a newbie. I purchased a budget drone from Ebay (new) Oike K911 MAX Drone.I Scanned the proper QR code, everything charged, turned the drone, and the software stated "disconnected". Went into my settings and found the message"UAV GO_5G_HF_86783168 "connected to device. Can't provide internet". I am at a loss. Is it my Cell phone, 4G, functioning modem, or the unit itself? Sent an email to tech support stating the problem, but it is in China and may take a while. Any help would be appreciated.

Please don't feel the wrong way if I appear to be lecturing you.
Since you confess to be a newbie, I am going to treat you as such.

1. Pairing is a procedure to connect your drone K911 with the controller (which came with your drone), so that you can fly the drone the way you want, such as ...... left, right, forward, backward, up, down, 360 flip, take pictures, record video etc etc.
It has nothing to do with your drone's camera nor your Pixel 4a phone. They have no part in pairing.
2. Your K911 has a 5g wifi camera and your Pixel 4a phone has 5g wifi capability. That makes Wifi connection between your drone's camera and your phone possible. You then need an app installed (which you did) so that whatever the drone's camera sees can be transmitted directly to your phone.
It does NOT need internet connection. In fact, you do NOT want internet connect when flying your drone.
3.The message "UAV GO_5G_HF_86783168 "connected to device. Can't provide internet", means your drone's camera and your phone are connected. Ignore "Can't provide internet" part. It is normal. You are NOT supposed to have internet when Wifi is connected.

Repeat what you did before. When you see that same message, open the app you have installed.
If you see picture on your phone coming from the drone's camera, you are all set. Except getting the GPS ready.

Thanks, David. I did not get offended and enjoyed learning new things.
Here is the status: Remote connects, the internet does not connect with their app. Error "does not recognize SSID" or " "connected to device. Can't provide internet". Attached are the instructions for setting up the app to my phone. The only thing left is the QC codes ( I have scanned all)

So, if I understand the situation correctly, you are not able to download the RX Drone app.
Yes?
From your screenshot the app you are required to download and install is RX DRONE.


If you have trouble scanning the QR code from your phone, you can go to Google Play store with your phone and search for RX Drone
Then install it.

Please post back the result.

I am also a newbie.

With a similar drone, and the VERY same phone, I'd say you have to only scan the right-most QR code. That is a misspelled Google Play Store... that they show as Google Pland??? Hope this helps.

Thanks David and Rich, I was able to install RX drone and on the correct side of the page. STill got the error does not recognize ssid. I have the UAV_5_HF.* 6783168 when I launch my internet, and it does show up but, it says "connected to device. Can't provide internet". I am thinking that this may be a newer QR code for their latest drones, and will not work for this drone, as it has been out almost a year. ???

Why did you launch internet?
Didn't I mention that you should not have internet connect when flying a drone?
Does your user manual say you have to launch internet when setting up the drone for flight?
You do have a user manual for K911 Max, do you?

Humor me. Please do the followings and ignore the error messages............
1. Pair you drone with the controller. Keep both turned On. When done, go to step 2.
2. From your phone, go to Settings > select Wifi section > proceed to set up WiFi connection between your camera and the phone. When connected go to step 3.
3. From your phone, go to RX Drone app and select it. Go to step 4.
4. Open or Start RX Drone.
Are you able to do the above 4 steps?
If yes, now look at your phone. Do you see a picture on the phone sent from the camera?

Please post back the result.

David....very clear. I saved that procedure as a "sticky" on my own computer.

It is the same procedure that I had to follow when I connected my camera for the first time. That "error message" ......Cannot provide Internet ....throws newbies off the first time we see it. Thank You.

Your are the man!! It did connect, and when I went into the app, it did list connection for a short while and then said time out. Tried again, same sequence everything was OK, then "timeout again". We are so close, and I am excited, and I know you have the final answer to get this going!

I am clueless about that "time out" issue.
I would suggest you get a different 5g WiFi phone. I know it sounds illogical buying another phone just for flying a lousy drone. But, I think the culprit is your phone.
MAKE SURE : whatever phone you will get, it has to have 5g wifi capability or else the camera will NOT connect to the phone.

See if the following steps applicable to you. They are meant for Pixel 4A.
Open Settings > select Advance > select Screen Timeout > select 30 min > exit Settings mode.
If you are able to follow and complete the above, then go back to your drone and repeat step 1 to 4 setting up your drone.
Do you still have "time out" error message?

I would hope this would not happen with more name-brand drones like DJI, or Holystone. and others. I really need avoidance, and GPS, with a decent camera, and I am on a limited budget. This one was reviewed and given good marks with the features I needed at a reasonable cost though the avoidance attachment was a bit basic..
Take care, and I would understand if this is the best you can do, which was amazing.

Now I need to find a wide open space like a public school playground on a weekend without much wind. I have passed the TRUST test and registered with the UAS, so I am ready to go..Again I appreciate you staying with me , and I get this little bugger up and need advice on something unusual..I will be back. Happy New Year.

Assuming it will be your FIRST flight. Go to You-Tube, look for videos about learning how to fly a drone. Don't get ambitious, or you will crash it, or worst, fly-away lost. "Walk before you Run".

My Pixel 4a is the same, and frankly, 5g is overstated. It is not all over, and 4G is going to be here for a long time. As a photographer, my choice in phones was really the camera, the rest of the tech for the phones is incedental.
