*WARNING* Avoid Twister Quattro X *WARNING*

My experience with this quad is terrible. Yesterday the bloody thing went entirely out of control after not responding to the transmitter. First the throttle wouldn't respond then the left and right went out.

The Quad crashed into a river on the edge of the water and bank with my GoPro4. I jumped in and grabbed it. The GoPro has been saved and the footage. The quad is smashed up, with a cracked body and damaged props.

This is the last time I put that particular brand in the air. It's dangerous and costly. I was in a remote area with no radio towers or power lines. I calibrated the quad before flying.

I now don't have a drone for aerial footage for a show I'm working on.

I will be pursuing the matter with gusto in small claims court for my money back on this entire outfit - Quad, gimbal, FPV, spare batteries etc.

That's too bad, we had another poster here who was disgusted with his. Seems Cheerson can't get their act together, poor QC and haphazard assembly (soldering) seems to be the norm.

Disgusted is about right. NEVER again. I rather get a phantom, and do the firmware updates. Twister/Cheerson/whatever, sucks so bad I am surprised they're still in business. Imagine having a quad up in the air with carbon props, then it decides it wont respond. If children were around, or other people that is a scary. I refuse to be responsible for an injury because this product is not suitable for use.

I thought Cheerston was based out of China? Or are they just made there?

Anyways I wish you well, and don't forget that the Naza also has a flyaway problem, though ofttimes associated with user error, not always. If these things (crap) were made in the UK or US they would at least have some testing and regulations, but I guess that is the reason they move their factories to China.

Wow, that is just sad, in the US we have useless regulations where they are not needed and cost a lot to uphold, right alongside the useful ones.

As an example a job I was working on, the parking lot was required to have water retention. Water retention is where the parking lot has to be able to catch and store water, then slowly release it back into the storm sewer system. For this small parking lot it cost a little over 47,000 to do the water retention. Well as you may have guessed this is just a waste of money. This is a city regulation, not a state or national one, but it is a good example.

Hi mate", my experience with this Quattro X is similar. When I first bought it and flew it for the 3 rd time, the thing went forwards without command and then hit the ground. I sent it to the shop where I purchased it from and they replaced a part in the transmitter and that seemed to have solved the problem. Yesterday I took it off and it did the same thing again and smashed into the cement. I throw this bloody crap to the bin and but a DJI standard,

Odd that some of these more-expensive "hobbyist/upscale" quads, seem to be less reliable thsn their "downscale/toy grade" counterparts. I'm still sorting out my landing skills with my rebranded JJRC H25G, but in six months of flying, have never had any flyaways. I also notice a lot of complaints about Yuneec Typhoons with "No Fly Zone lockout", that seems to anything and everything, considered to be a "No Fly Zone". That would make them just about useless in the US, almost anywhere East of the Mississippi River, due to the density of development. A $700.00-to-$1500.00 quad that I have to make a 4,000 mile round trip from my home to Arizona or New Mexico and back, to find enough clear area to fly it without running afoul of the FAA, is worthless to me.

I have not been in the game for very long at all but the first two quadcopers I bought were complete lemons and really made me start to rethink whether or not I still want to get involved with all this. Well at least until I got one to fly haha. I guess you could say I'm still bit worried I'm about to dump a bunch of cash into a black hole though.

Anyway, good luck getting all this squared away.
