All,
I received my Matrix E with a new gimbal (not even on their website) that was I think calibrated for the Sony Nex5, or maybe just wasn't calibrated to the right gain to begin with. I am using a Sony A6000. The camera is heavy enough that the gimbal just falls down and the camera points at the ground. I have tried to get help from the person I ordered the quad from, but just got approx names of some websites that are supposed to have the software or drivers to do this. I looked them up and downloaded some software from a russian website basecamelectronics.com. It is supposed to be able to upgrade the firmware on the board, but I couldn't get it to work. I tried to install a driver, and I got one that SEEMED to work from si labs called CP210x something. When I plug the gimbal in it recognizes that driver, but the version 2.4 simplebgc software won't upgrade the board firmware, so I can't do anything in terms of calibration. The guy I bought this from said something about ftdi drivers. I tried downloading a driver from the ftdichip website and uninstalled the other driver, but I can't get the computer to even recognize this other ftdi driver is even there. I've now wasted two entire evenings wrestling with this problem. Not sure what to do. Anyone have a good set of instructions or recognize the problem?
