Transmitter compatibility?

Hello everybody,
I am interested in getting a micro quadcopter but all of the ones that I've seen come with those tiny transmitters. Because of the fact that I'm quadriplegic I don't think I will be able to use one of those. I have the syma x5c-1 and I used ¼ inch ID rubber tubing to extend the joysticks taller so I'm able to use it. But with the micro quadcopter's transmitter joysticks being so close together I'm all but positive I won't be able to use it. Is there any way to bind a different transmitter to one of the micro quadcopters? Any input is greatly appreciated! Thanks and have a great day!

Cool... Thanks for the info! I need to find someone that can help me get my syma x5c-1 fixed. I just moved to Springfield Missouri recently so I don't have any friends here. And the family that I have here are always so busy nobody has time to repair it. I'm not even sure what's wrong, it acts like one of the shafts are bent a little because one of the propellers turns freely for about ½ turn then it seems to bind. I bought four new motors and also four of the gear drives. I was wanting to get a very small quadcopter to fly inside of my room and the dining room here at the nursing home where I live. Being quadriplegic and living in a nursing home means that I'm on a fixed income, only getting $50.00 per month doesn't allow me to do much. I think I will just get me another syma s107g micro helicopter, they're a lot easier for me to fly and cheaper. And hopefully I can get someone to help me fix my quadcopter soon! Maybe someone at the local hobby shop would be willing to help me. Fingers crossed! Thanks again and have a great day!

The Syma X5 is very easy to work on. It could be a bent shaft or even missing teeth on gears. If you Google Syma X5 spare parts, you can be referred to many suppliers for props, gear boxes, motors etc. For my Girl Friend's son, I ordered the a "crash kit".

Well, I ordered a syma S107G, I used to have one of those and I enjoyed flying it in my room. As far as my X5C-1 I'm really not sure what's wrong because the gear looks fine, no missing teeth or anything stuck between the teeth. And the shaft does not appear to be bent, it's really strange! I'm going to call the local hobby shop today to see if they would be willing to help me out. I can't wait to get my micro helicopter! And I can't wait to get my X5C-1 fixed! Hey everybody,
I've been flying my syma S107G and really enjoying it! Also, the local hobby shop wouldn't help me with repairing my X5C-1 but one of the girls that works at the nursing home where I live had one of her friends who is an avid RC enthusiast check it out and it turns out it was something stuck in the gear. The other couple people that looked at it didn't see anything. He used a small blade and cleaned up the gear. So far it's working great! Now I just need to get some practice in. It seems like every time I take it outside its too windy to fly it. I've been taking it and my micro helicopter down to the dining room here at the nursing home where I live. There's plenty of room for my S107G but not so much the X5C-1. I am getting better at flying them, now I just need a calm day and a wide open area to better my skills at flying the quadcopter... Looking forward to that!

It's just harder for me being quadriplegic I need someone to help me install the battery, set up my transmitter on my lap and turn everything on. All I can do is fly it... Well, somewhat. LOL! I used ¼ inch ID rubber fuel line to extend the joysticks taller and I tied two rubber bands together, put them around the throttle joystick so I don't have to try to pull the joystick back. I can just push and release it as needed. It works pretty good! (Even if I do say so myself) I'm just thankful that I have enough movement and the ingenuity to create the adaptive equipment that allows me to at least try. :) I'm also very thankful that I'm capable of driving my RC cars!
