Transferring receiver

Hi,
As my username suggests I've not been flying long. I bought the GEPRC TinyGo rtf which comes with goggles and controller and I'm hooked.
Things were going great but I landed it in some wet stuff and now the camera doesn't work. The copter still flies and I can control it line of sight but I don't get any picture in the goggles though I do get the OSD.
I've looked for a replacement caddx Loris 4k camera but the only county that seems to have any stock is USA who don't ship to UK. Also I don't know for sure that getting a new camera will fix the problem (unless you folks can recommend anything).
So my next thought was to upgrade but i'd rather not splash out on new goggles and controller yet, just the quad which I'm looking at the Protek25. However I now understand the GEPRC controller will only bind to a GEPRC receiver. You can buy the ProTek without receiver so my question is can I remove the receiver from the TinyGo and install it on the ProTek? Seems like a logical solution but thought I'd ask people in the know first.

It should work. That said getting the receiver connection correct can be difficult because need to use the "right" input pin for a given type of signal (in cases when signal is inverted). If you get betaflight configurator setup now and pull the setup from your current quad it can help, but also wanted to say the cameras are generally pretty "swappable" they all just need the right voltage and send out an analog video signal in general (unless talking dji/caddx which may be digital camera signal though I'm not entirely sure).

If hook up current quad to betaflight configurator in you'd want to check out the configuration tab for the receiver protocol that is used for receiver to the flight controller. You'd also want to check the receiver tab for the "channel map" will be something like AETR1234 or TAER1234. Last thing to check is the ports tab the serial rx toggle will be turned on for one of the "UARTs". These correspond to RX/TX pairs of pins on the board for a receiver usually only rx is used and if hooked to say RX1 that corresponds toggling serial rx on for UART1.

Cheers for the prompt and comprehensive reply wafflejock. I have already downloaded betaflight onto my PC and connected the TinyGo to mess around with its rates so will check out the config, receiver and ports tabs as suggested.
All these acronyms and terms are still quite confusing but I'm sure with a little patience and time I'll get something sorted.
