I just crashed my xhover xp230 so hard on concrete that it mechanically exploded.
It was a 40mph hit minimum. I thought it was pointed one way when it was 180 from what I thought.
I wasn't flying FPV.
all 4 props were broken, the camera broke off, the antennas for my receiver ripped out
All 4 motors have dirt in them, so they are no doubt ruined. The battery (first flight) has been punctured. Im surprised it didn't burn up.

I don't know what to do now. Pay $200, fix it, just so I can crash it again!!!???

These things hit hard! so I assume it will be $200 every time I crash.

I would get something lighter and smaller to learn how to fly first, and then try again

qx180 is a good one to start with.

Yeah I second ringolong you really want something that cost 5$ to crash when you are learning otherwise you have too much power and too much expense.

Hi mate sorry to hear that ,I agree to get some thing cheaper to learn on . And while your learning buy parts to rebuild the beast so once its fixed your be ready to fly it,
I know all about costs as I fly RC Helicopters if the 500 has a small tip over its over £100 ago to get it flying , it's part of the hobby this crashing thing

Yeah, my plane and my quad are both down right now, but that's just part of the fun of the hobby

In all reality though, unless you burned one up by not throttling down your motors are fine, just take the bell off of the stator and clean them up. Outrunner motors aren't afraid of a little water

and the wire harness between the receiver, and the cc3d has a break, as it only works with some wiggling.
The fpv camera broke off. I havnt tested that yet.

So about $100.
It lives to crash another day.
Ill be back.

Hahaha, you'd be surprised with what you can fix with a little solder, some zip ties and hotglue hahaha.

As for the antenna you should be able to solder it back on or just buy an antenna. If you have a lifted solder pad just scratch some of the solder mask of the trace further up and then solder to it, be sure to better secure the pin or wire though.

Ouch. That was a pretty confident looking move before the end too hahaha. If you are interested in getting some good LOS footage you could use on youtube a head mount works pretty well. Though I'd suggest getting good on a toy, dialing the stick authority down a lot, or flying FPV as you are still learning.

I'd say it has to do with taking off and landing. Grass makes takeoff hard, and he was flying over grass for part of it hahahaha

I was wondering the same this as Jackson. I'm still pretty cautious flying my 250 and don't fly anywhere near any type of pavement or cement. Let me guess, trying to show off for your girlfriend?

Its true, im in over my head.
I used to fly rc helicopters, so I thought this was going to be easy.
But, I would say they are not even comparable.
Also, its hard to perceive the yaw angle of quad sometimes, as it is a square. That was never a question with a helicopter.

Did you ever notice that these quadcopter electric motors don't have magnets!?
The panels on the outside are steel, not magnets.

Actually they do hahaha. They have inside electromagnetic coils (stators which are metal that has iron in it wrapped with copper wire to act as an inductor). Those electromagnets counteract the fixed rare earth magnets (Most are neodymium magnets).



This animation shows a 3-phase induction inrunner motor, we use outrunners so the fixed magnets go on the bell (outer metal) and the coils on the inside fixed to the non moving bottom of the motor.

Hi shame you crashed it , you do need to cut the angle of attack a lot , I fly helis too and they do fly the same as the quad( they are the same as they will carry on and do what you told them till you tell them to do something different like fly forward till you stop and hover etcetera ) will but as the heli has a long tail boom this gives you more clues to angles, the nature of a quad you can get disoriented very quickly
A 250 racer is what it's for racing so it's going to be fast very fast looking at yours , so reducing the angle of attack till you get more used to them and them jump to fpv this can help as your on board so can see what's going on but fpv is not easy as the guys will tell you
You main problem is the stick scalling was more for acro
