Have you ever seen any branded ones? Aren't they all just plain blue wrapped?

I'm looking for a 3000mAh 30c battery that will fit in the X8W battery compartment. Anybody ever hear of such an animal?

Ain't gonna happen. And if there was it would have to weigh considerably more.

Then I noted the weight=> 150 grams. My stock one comes in at 103 grams. Come spring I'll add my Dazne camera to it, with it's skeleton frame and simple damping mount I'll be adding ~180 grams, that's enough extra weight, don't need 50 more grams.
FWIW the regular 3s 2800Mah battery I have weighs 210 grams and dwarfs the Syma one.

I found some 2500mAh / 25C batteries that fit, on Amazon. I also have some 3000mAh / 30C that are just a little too long to fit into the compartment. Weight is the big issue. The W motors ARE stronger and will lift more. But, between the G2D gimbal and camera, I can't add the extra weight. So, I guess the 2500/25 battery is as good as it's going to get. I have been able to get some good video. But, you really have to watch your flight time. 8 minutes is about the max.
You can get them in as a guy has done it on YouTube (Jace?) but he stripped it and cut away the compartment so it fitted.

You reach a point where any extra capacity becomes no improvement at all and becomes more detrimental to performance.
More capacity is always more weight...If you can find 100 maybe 250 mah more it might give you 20 to 30 seconds more time but also puts more stress on the motors due to the weight but is a reasonable upgrade.
keep in mind these motors can only operate so long before heat becomes an issue..Even if we could add 2 minutes to the flight time the motors would suffer greatly and possibly just burn up in flight...After every 6 to 7 minutes of flight they need a good 10 to 15 minutes to cool off...These types of motors dont have the cooling capabilities brushless motors have.

Can you upgrade motors on the x8w to give better or more durable usage?
Ok. Not sure other than removing camera etc to lower weight. Hints?

Well, some remove the prop guards and landing gear but, this is of course with no camera attached for the landing gear.
Most seem to be in search of that perfect video with no regards to how its affecting the performance and durability of a toy quad with weight.
Some remove camera internals from there case to drop weight.
What i would consider ideal for such a larger quad would be a small micro or nano Fpv/video system which weighs next to nothing...Some systems are less than 30 grams complete.

Mike I'm a beginner and not too sure of the cameras you're suggesting. Where can I see them or buy them etc?

You would have basically no added load to the quad, increasing your flight times significantly with even a stock battery...motor life would significantly improve as well.

Never seen that mentioned by others, a search brings up nothing. Quadcopter101 says he can detect no difference between his C and W version quads. Where do you buy W motors?
