Does anyone know how to achieve greater distance/height for my x8?

Which X8 model do you have? Most of them will fly to 100 meters + stock. If you are having problems with signal loss at short range, the transmitter may be set to low power mode. Check the LCD display on the transmitter: are the bars on the LEFT (transmitter signal) flashing when it's bound to the quad?

Hi Rick thanks for reply. It's the x8c it's just I seen a guy on YouTube who was able to get greater height and distance with a different antenna and wondered how it's done.

Ok...if your range is very short, check that indicator on the transmitter power. Most Syma TX's ship in high power mode, but I have seen at least once that it was in low from the factory. That will kill your range.

There are tons of YouTube videos on range mods for the transmitter antenna. Watch a few and you will see how it's done. Just search "Syma transmitter range mod" and you will find plenty of how-to's.
