Syma X5SC Not working - HELP

I recently bought a syma x5sc. it worked great the first few flights. but now it won't fly. Whats happening is when I turn it on, the lights flash fast, like they're supposed to, I push the left stick on the transmitter all the way up and back down to sync it, which I think it does because on the transmitter the range and battery life of the quadcopter appear. but when i try to give it throttle nothing happens, and the image of the quadcopter on the top centre of the transmitter screen flashes. Any suggestions?

I think battery life you see is for the transmitter and not the quad...Make sure the quad battery is fully charged.

oh possibly, the instruction book doesn't explain it at all. I had the battery charging for it's suggested time and it didn't work, then all night and it still didn't work so I figured a faulty battery (Hopefully not a faulty charger) but my brother said he didn't think so so here I am. At least batteries are cheap.

Get yourself an inexpensive multimeter <$10. It makes this kind of trouble shooting so much easier.

Good idea! Is faulty batteries a common problem for these kind of things? this is the first one I've owned and I know nothing about them.

What worries me is you saying you left the battery plugged in overnight..Please don't do that.

The chargers that come with these toy quads arent verystable and can overcharge a battery very easily causing a fire..Never leave charging batteries unattended.

Its not uncommon to get a bad battery so, i would try a new battery and see what happens.

If this doesnt fix the issue, we will try to figure something else out.

Okay hahah note taken. Thanks for the heads up! I already ordered the batteries, not sure when they'll get here. But if that doesn't help then I'll be sure to let you know. Thanks of the help.

You be able to quickly figure out if it's the battery of the chintzy charger they come with. You want the battery off the charger to be between 4.14-4.22V.

I couldn't live without a meter, so useful for so many things.

Okay guys so the new batteries came. plugged one straight in (after switching the polarity) and it didnt work. I'm going to try charging it for a while and hope that works.

Here is a link showing what happens when I try to use it. I guess the main thing I was trying to show was that the quadcopter on the LCD screen starts to flash whenever I give it any throttle, but as soon as the throttle is all the way down it stops flashing. hopefully it helps. ps: sorry for filming vertical :/

I have the same quadcopter. I have had the same thing happen occasionally. I have been able to shut off & turn back on the transmitter, resync & it worked. Try this with your quad and the transmitter at least a few feet apart.

If this doesn't work I would sync it like you did in your video and then immediately re calibrate it before you apply throttle.

I don't think its even syncing. In the beginning of that he turns it on, the lights flash fast for a few seconds and then slow down, on mine they don't stop flashing fast.

Also when he turns his controller on the light in it is flashing at a slower pace. When i turn mine on its flashing as fast as the quad copter.

When you receive a new battery it is always never fully charged..Lipo batteries are stored at 3.7 volts....Storing a fully charged lipo will destroy the battery.

I listed above how to "re calibrate" the quad..also to "bind" the quad the throttle is pushed to full throttle then back down again...you should hear a beep after doing this properly.

The quad gets turned on first..then the radio...then you move the throttle stick all the way and back down....You should then be bound to the quad and it should respond to throttle inputs.

If you are doing this correctly and you have no power still ,then you may have a faulty flight board which you either return the quad as a faulty product or you can replace it yourself if you know how to solder properly.

The flashing quad on the radio is supposed to do that if the quad works or not..its just some flashy thing or whatever they program in ..I have a radio for a helicopter that does this also ..it doesnt mean something isnt working with the radio

Yeah I did it correctly. I got a few flights in before it started acting up so I know what it should do when it syncs. I guess its a faulty one. I know how to solder but I have no idea what i'd be soldering. Unless you can give me some tips on that then i guess ill have to return it.

I wasn't aware that the quad on the radio would flash anyway. At least I know that has nothing to do with it
