Any idea how to improve flight time?

hi Joe put weight in at 1000g, change prop to APC slow fly 8 inch x4.5 and now you have flight time of 11.7 mins and hover time of 20 mins, wow thats good mate

Thanks for your usual helpful hints and tips.

One last question for 2013 from me :) What will it take to get the thing to fly for 30 mins plus??

Sorry for the wait been building a new quad a 666 mm frame ,God thats a hard one i dont know many that can fly that long , the bigger the battery the more its weight so you dont gain much if any thing , and after about 15-20 mins your start to loose your head and will have more of a chance for a crash,DJI phamtom is one of the best and it dont fly for that long,My mate gets 19 mins with his set up ,so all you can do if your going to fly FPV and total flight time is 20 mins set your timer to 10 mins then that gives you time to come back, he has same frame as you so look at his set up and try to match it the spec is in the first part of his video
HAPPY NEW YEAR JOE

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU AND ALL!!

Hope your build is going well. Tell me where I can see finished product :)

Where would I find your friend's setup please??

here you are joe at the start give you a run down on parts used if its to fast for you to get let me know i will e-mail him and get all his spec i think he used a 6 cell lipo
my build is done mate thanks not as clean as i like but arms were to narrow for wires to run inside, my last quad thats in pic was a clean build and my heli 99% of wire are inside the frame build takes longer but looks so much nicer than wire every where

before you say it joe he does not list parts i will e-mail him
see below Joe this was his build log i will get you some videos to go with this

Project Sponsor Quadcopter 6S HV Flip FPV!

Finally its DONE! My crazy Creation lives!!!!!! This is the Project sponsor quadcopter. A High Voltage Hoverthings Flip!

The purpose of the "project sponsor" project was:

*Show off products that the sponsors are offering in there stores for amazing prices.
*To show how awesome the owners of these stores are and how truely dedicated and fair there pricing is, and there devotion to the rc community! We fellow hobbyist owe you guys a giant THANK YOU for everything you do for us.
*To build something completely unique as of this date April, 23, 2013.
*To build a super powerfull yet very long flight time capable, compact machine.
*To push the boundries, and challenge others to try something unique, fun, and experiment a little!

This whole idea was something i thought up a couple months ago and thought id try out if i could get sponsors for the project.

The AWESOME SPONSOR'S of the Project are as follows:
*Dan owner of DIYQUADCOPTER.COM
*Thomas owner of HOVERTHINGS.COM
*Mike owner of DRAGONLINKSTORE.COM
*Alex AKA IBCRAZY owner of videoaerialsystems.com

All of this wouldn't have been possible without you guys believing and trusting in my craziness! Words cant express how much i appreciate how much you guys have done and offered to me, THANKS!

I had previouslly built a flip FPV that ran on 850kv motors and 10inch props and it flew awesome and had tons of power so i thought id build another and do this Project Sponsor quad!

I know what your thinking WHY! my answer is Because I Like Unique things and i want to see How awesome a High Voltage setup would be!

Ok i just finished building it today april, 23, and it was dark so i took it for a 2 minute test flight and it was scary because i didnt want something to go wrong and a 6s small quad fly away into the night! needless to say i tried it anyways
biggrin.gif
all went perfect and amazing i just tested the normal movements and the different flight modes and RTH. All worked perfect!

So i called it a night. tommorow i will hopefully do a test flight and get some flight times!

Goals i set to hopefully meet! all using a 6s 2700mah pack! (385grams)
*18-20 minute gps hands off hover.
*15 minute cruise relaxed FPV flight.
*12 minute aggressive FPV flight.
*Take this quad everywhere i can to show the world the capabilitties of this quad!
