Snaptain A15F is not able to taking off anymore after a light collision with a tree

Hi all,

I'm new to this world and I hope I'm posting my issue into the correct forum / channel.

I bought a Snaptain A15F for my son. After a light collision with a tree, the dron is not able to taking off anymore.

I tried to change the battery on the drone, on the controller and re calibrate multiple times but no luck in fixing the issue.

I create a small video of the issue to let you have a clear idea of what is going on:

Hi I think you have same problem with the coreless motors these are very weak and the super thin shaft bends which stops the motors hitting enough rpm to take off and fly
The tiny X4 hubsan is small but a great tool to learn on the bigger drone like you have even a tiny crash has a lot of force behind it due to the weight of it being a bigger drone . So you will have to think now about do you repair it which will be 4 motors and soldiering the wires or buy a X4 hubsan

What's your suggestion?
What's the cost of 4 motors? Do you know the model and where to buy them?
Is hubsan better than snaptain? Less frail perhaps?

Hi ok motors will be on banggood web site you May have to strip one down to get size
The hubsan X4 may be discontinued. But if you don't mind spending they do the 105 x4 which is 100% better it's brushless motors flight time of 20 minutes and FPV has follow me and return home mode but in the UK is £227 I had 2 of them they fly nice never had a problem with them

I would like to give a go to replace motors way.
Is there any procedure to follow to correctly strip one down?

This is a pic of the rear of one of the arms


I can see 5 screws, have I just to unscrew them to unmount the motor?

Sorry .never had one of your drones but normally not very hard , just take pics as you go so know what it looks like as you rebuild

Hi, I tried to remove the 5 screws but I cannot remove the cover, do you have any suggestion?

The arms are glued so not going to be easy your need to unsolder the motor off the main board then pull are out so you can work on the arm

Well in this case, I think I will give up if there is nobody around that create a procedure or a video that show how to do it.

All I can say look on YouTube for a motor replacement on a quad that looks close to what you have , sorry can help much more but if and when you can move away from toy quads to hobby grade quads these you can do repairs easier as they are built to be taken apart

Can you please suggest me a good entry level hobby grade quads?

Permit me to butt in.
I do not make recommendation unless I own one and have personal experience with it.
I am suggesting this one ....... Eachine E520S.
It costs under US$150. Less if you buy it from Banggood, China.
It is a GPS drone with FPV camera. 2.4g wifi.
One of the GPS features will help you minimize the Crashes because the drone will stay "frozen" in mid-air if you don't touch the controller's sticks. So, you don't have to worry about the drone dropping to the ground from mid air, and you can concentrate on the skills of piloting the drone.
The downside of this drone is : it does not do 360 degree flip. It just flying forwards, backwards, upwards, downwards and sideways.

Many drone experts will disagree with me on recommending a GPS drone to beginners. One of the objections I gather is "creating bad habits" and an obstacle to becoming an expert pilot.
I am not here to debate but to say " save money from lesser chance to crash the drone".

Let it be clear. Crash is part of the learning stage. Just like falling down learning to ride a bicycle.
No body, and I mean nobody, can avoid that. We all have had our shares of crashes flying a drone.

Spot on David , one thing you can try is Google the spares for that quad the arm may come as complete arm with motor , but your have more fun with a hobby grade quad , some times on banggood you can buy a hobby grade quad as a kit so you can build to ? Just an idea
