SD not recognized H502s

Recently purchased the 502 and like it very much. I've attempted to take video and then watch it on my laptop but the card disappears after I record anything on it. I free l first tried a 16GB card class 10 and thought the problem had been the card size so I need tried a 2GB card, not sure of the class at the moment, and it too disappeared. I've tried a couple of fixed for plug and play memory and nothing seems to return these cards to being seen by my operating system. Could it be the quad is doing something? The manual is very vague about how to view these files or format the cards but both were formatted externally as fat 32. The next thing I was going to try was plugging my USB into the quad but everything I find says that port is for upgrading the onboard system. Is this what I need to do or do I have a defective bird?

You have to make sure you turn the video off, before turning off your TX or pulling the battery.

So you think I've corrupted the cards?I know at least once with each that I unplugged the battery, which is how you turn on and off this unit, without formally ending the video. I saw that the YouTubers mentioned that it wouldn't save it otherwise so I figured I just lost that video. If I can get the cards to be seen and reformat them I'll try that in a dry run and report back. Thank you

Just an update to hopefully help anyone else with this issue. The card simply started reading. So my guess is the issue was with my laptop and not the card. Thank you for the advice and help.
