recurring prob. with Naza M Lite

Wondering if anyone else has had this problem with DJI. Four times I have had seemingly successful flights with my quad controlled by DJI M Lite, right up until final approach for a manual landing. Each of the 4 times, the craft has come within 100' of take-off location, when suddenly, without any input from the radio Tx., the craft suddenly starts oscillating wildly side to side, flips over, and slams itself into the ground. 4 times this has happened, yesterdays crash is going to require a complete re-build, so I'm grounded for a good while.

I have to admit that I am really disappointed with my DJI purchase, and at this point, I am not at all impressed with DJI support. I didn't mind so much paying a "Cadillac" price for my FCB, but when you pay for a Cadillac, and get stuck with a lemon, it does leave a sour taste in the mouth.

I have little hope for any resolution of this problem from DJI, and I won't try to fly the Naza again when I finally re-build my bird for the fourth time. I am currently looking at other FCB's suitable for fun-flying with a stationary flight camera. I am using a FS-i6 Tx, a highly modified "Alien Bee" frame, Jrelics A2212 1000KV motors spinning 10X4.5 props. I am looking for any suggestions from you experienced fliers for a new FCB suitable for my flying style, which is fun camera flying. No commercial stuff, no racing, I'd just like to be able to fly without having to see all my work and money slam into the ground every time.

Any suggestions?

The imu could be stuck. A hard knock will knock it loose. I can't remember the side that it is located on so you will have to search around.

I would flash with the v2 firmware as Jackson suggested.

Well Jackson, after watching my 500 size quad slamming into the ground from various altitudes on 4 different occasions, I'm not inclined to fly that Naza in a helium balloon. I've read a lot of great reviews on the product, and the 2 times I was able to test the return and land failsafe, I was really impressed. But like any device, you can get a bad one. The unit I received has a deadly glitch, and I'm out $160.00, not to mention all the re-builds. Sooooo, I guess I'm just one more customer unimpressed by DJI and their "service" team.

Have you calibrated the imu? These are really good flight controllers that should not be behaving like yours is.

Ringolong, good suggestion, but not quite on the mark. I had just downloaded a software update as advised by "Andrew" at DJI, and went through the calibrations afterward. Just out of curiosity, I did recheck those values yesterday, and they had been jarred slightly out of wack. No surprise, it was one hell of a crash.

Problem is, there was no apparent drift during the flight (or any of them) until I was bringing it in for a landing. Everything was functioning very well until I got the bird within 100' of "home", and then it suddenly goes berserk. It has done this 4 times. I have always been flying in GPS mode. Twice I was able to put it into "return and land" failsafe, and THAT seemed to function perfectly. It's sad that those were the only good landings I've seen. I've had 4 good unassisted flights that just lost control when attempting to come home and land manually. And that is the ONLY commonality I've been able to see in all of the crashes.

On this last fatal flight, I had a RunCam mounted, and got a very good video record of the flight and subsequent crash. The video is only 3 minutes, and the flight itself was only 2 minutes. If I could figure out HOW, I'd post the video here for yall's amazement, or amusement, whichever. I haven't had any luck using the "upload a file" button to the lower right here. I'm going to try again, I made a copy of the video, and zipped it. Don't know if that will help or not. Nope, got a msg. that the file is too large. And that's the zipped file. Any ideas?

I was attempting a "point of interest" type rotation around my launch point. All went well until I was about 180* through the rotation, and the low voltage alarm went off. I continued to the 270* mark and tried to return to "home". Almost made it too.

Jackson, sendvid.com web site was pretty simple to upload the video, took a while because I sent the full vid instead of the zipped version. However, I have no idea where the video went, or how to access it. The web site wasn't terribly informative about where the file went when I uploaded it. I assumed (and hoped) that it would appear here (because of the link) but maybe not. File name, 07-09-16.mov

Thank you Jackson, that clarifies things, and yes, that was my last fatal flight, and the 4th time the FCB has done this. Hard to believe. Now that you've "trained" me on uploading video, I'm going to look, I believe I have another RunCam video when the FCB did the same thing to me.

Here's a link to an earlier vid., when I had first mounted my RunCam in the quad. The video is only the 2nd half or so of the full flight. The camera mount wasn't really satisfactory, I seemed to be getting a lot of "jello". But in spite of that, you can see that I was enjoying a stable controlled flight and decent when the flight controller did exactly the same thing as it did in the previous video. This video is dated 5-31, and this was the third time it had crashed this way. The previous video was dated 7-9 (after extensive re-building) and conveniently recorded the 4th crash by board.

That one works.

Is that the low voltage module beeping? What batteries are you using, and are you sure they are fully charged? I don't think they should start beeping, and dying that early in flight.
