Ok I will be first to admit I'm still really new at all this quad piloting stuff. But back when I build my first quad I was looking around for transmitter for a low cost. I settled on the FS-I6X. Now I understand it does have two way communication. And I've seen people using the new beta-flight firmware to supposedly use GPS features., like RTH. That got me to thinking and I said to my self "I didn't know my transmitter had a GPS module in it. So I did some googleing and all I could find was people talking about using it for Auto-piloting a drone. So I took it apart to just see for myself, and my suspicions were correct. No GPS module installed in it. So how does the RTH function work? Without a GPS module in the transmitter, how dose it tell the drone where to RTH too? Only thing I can think of is it just returns to were it took off from. If this is the case then I can move from the take off point and "follow me" mode won't be an available function. Can someone help me understand this a little better? Because I just purchased all the parts to build me a GPS enabled quad and I would hate to find out that I won't be able to fly it until I can afford a $200+ transmitter. Can the FS-I6X be upgraded with a GPS module. I've heard that some quads use a phones GPS to report the pilots location via FPV wifi. How does that work exactly?
