Quad Spinning CCW on ground, Unable to take off

Hello,

After arming, when giving throttle to the system, the quad spins on the ground. Unable to take off from the ground, instead its rotation in CCW direction.

We verified all motor connection, Props direction and mounting, Throttle range calibration is OK., ESC calibrating perfectly in a normal way.

My specs :

1. DYS 20Amp ESC

2. KK 2.1 FLight controller with LCD

3. DYS motors with 1000KV, 150W

4. HK Transmitter & Rx, T6A V2 :

5. Nano Tech Lipo 4s, 4500maH, 35C. Also tried with Nano Tech Lipo 3S, 2200maH, 25C.

Are you sure your motors are spinning the right way? It looks like at least one of the motors is spinning in the wrong direction. That would definitely cause this behavior.

It could also be a ESC with bad programming/ calibration. The last thing to check would be if all of the wiring/connections are good. If one motor is not getting sufficient current, it could cause the copter to spin.
 
Hi i second what mm said quads do this spinning when a motor fails or is rotating wrong normally goes front left cw, front right ccw, back left ccw back right cw
 
hello,

I have double checked all the motor spin, prop mounting and wiring . Everything is perfectly fine.. But still my vehicle spins, fails to take off. My observation is that, M2(front right ccw) is not lifting up, rest all 3 motor lifted up for 5 cms from ground. I dont have idea on why M2 is not lifting up . I suppose that if M2 lifts, the problem will be solved.
 
HI check esc calibration if this is ok , change motor position to see if its always that motor or new motor on esc dont spin up the its that esc
you can always calibrate the esc one at a time by plugging each one , one at a time in to motor one position take props off before you do any thing, looking at pic your set up for x quad if you go + the fcb will be at an angle, try what i said and come back to me mate after thought you have done the full set up in order from start to finish and when you did sensor test they did all read ok if one does not the board is not right , and on trim set up everything needs to read zero, if your not sure reset and start again as this is what flys the quad it must be right to start with i will put link on here for set up video
 
Hello all,

I checked with all basic possible errors like Motor spinning, correct prop direction, wiring connection. Everything was perfectly OK. But the problem still existed.

Then I re flashed the firmware and placed the FC board using studds(Before it was hosted inside the foam). Suprisingly the spin was reduced on the ground rather it started lifting up slightly. I was feeling like Vehicle is crawling like baby. It lifted off around half feet to 5 feet in different sorties(was airborne only for 3-4secs). But it was PITCHING forward along with yawing effect. It was jumping

I dono Know how to call it. The vehicle started to lift off only after giving throttle of more than 40% along with triming the throttle slowly.

Sometimes I feel that TX which im using might be too heavy for this board (HK Transmitter & Rx, T6A V2 )http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...2_mode_2_.html

@Holtneil : Changing motor position and testing was wonderful idea. Will do that update you . I have done remaining testing like checking sensor status, ESC calibration, FC orientation. But the problem persisted that why i went on re flashing the firmware. Thank you

What might be the reasons for this

Looking at it from the front:

Front Left motor: CW
Front Right motor: CCW
Rear Left motor: CCW
Rear Right motor: CW

Correct?

Yes .

Front Left motor: CW - 8x4.5 R
Front Right motor: CCW - 8x4.5 L
Rear Left motor: CCW - 8x4.5 L
Rear Right motor: CW - 8x4.5 R
 
HI i just watched video one and it looks like blades are going wrong way its hard to see as what is front , on the kk2 it will show you what motor is what sorry to keep saying the same thing are you sure motor one is plugged into m1 on board and it should spin cw , m2 spins ccw , m3 cw ,m4 ccw, did sensor test come back all ok , if not your never get it to fly and when you calibrate the board it must be level

Top Left is M1- CW, Top right is M2 -CCW, Rear Right is M3-CW, Rear Left is M4- CCW. I check with sensor test- its showing all OK. I have calibrated with FC on level platform which reduced the spinning at same point.
 
I am at a lost, it should not be spinning , all motors spin up to full power all at the same time , all props are right way round, motors set up as kk board led display,
OK now all esc are the same i can see that on video,But have they been flashed with different software , or did you program with a program card
 
HI i have been doing some reading and lots of people have problems with the dys esc , they can get them to calibrate one will one wont , so this may be the problem if they are running different throttle , try the manual calibration one at a time , if you dont know how to i will tell you sorry if you do know
remove props, pull all esc wires off fcb, plug one esc into receiver throttle channel , turn on trans at full throttle power up reciever when the esc bleeps lower throttle it will bleep again unplug battery , now do this for the other 3 escs then try it
i really hope this works for you the kk board is very good never had or heard of problems with it spinning , this is why i think its motor / esc problem
one more thing did you do receiver test all should be at zero etc aux so dont worry about this one thats self level , also look at monitor see if you have a channel gimbal stuck on the reciever ( if rudder is stuck the quad will spin ) your know as readings will be high on this channel or monitor signal will be stuck one way
 
Thanks for your inputs. I will do ESC calibration individually and update you.

I have one good news and one Bad news. First I will start with Good News.

Good news- Earlier observation of Vehicle pitching forward when giving throttle alone is no more present. The workaround is that, I was having elevator trim on positive side ( on top) thinking that is zero but later realized that centre point of the trim is zero in Tx. After providing this correction, the vehicle pitching forward is not observed.

Another problem of spinning in CCW direction with motor2 as centre has reduced. The workaround for this issue is Centre of Gravity (CG) correction. After this correction, spinning problem around Motor2 doesn't exists.

New problem is : The vehicle is drifting away. After giving throttle around while trying to give correction to lift off , vehicle is drifting away in right
direction. Vehicle is drifting to my right, I will send my youtube link shortly.
 
Can you take it outside and get it up off the floor ground affect will act on the quad till its off the floor , may be now its just a trim problem once its up in the air you should be able to trim it , dont have it in self level mode yet fly in normal mode , some times self level will make quad drift if not set up right p and i gain can also make this happen , once it flys your have to set up the p and i gains
i see your battery is inside make sure when you put it in that the balance is right and if you have a built in pcb on bottom plate that it cant short out on the battery , cover all solder joints so nothing can rub on battery case
