Prop size vs. Motor size vs. Amp draw

So the way I'm figuring it, a lower kv motor spinning a larger prop will pull fewer amps than a higher kv motor spinning the same prop, right? For example: a 1000 kv motor spinning a 10 inch prop would pull fewer amps than an 1800 kv motor spinning that same prop?

I'm still trying to figure out this foamy (for anyone who saw my other post). Trying to decide which motor/prop/esc combo to go for. Right now I could use a 10 inch prop with a 4.7 inch pitch, using a 2209 1050kv motor and an 18 amp esc without having to buy anything. I have a few other options to choose from, I'd just have to see what my dad has laying around, but the above is what I was planning on going with.

I use a lower kv motor to spin a larger prop slowly to gain longer flight times.. if I want to go faster it is no problem, but the amps then drawn can be a lot more than a higher rated kv motor.. the actual overall weight has an affect to the amps drawn..

anyway a 2209 motor kv1050 should draw around 12amps constant with peaks around 15-17 amps when accelerating hard.. your esc will be ok ,, but too much accelerating may cause them to get hot..
