Picking the right battery

YOu will need something that will support ~48 amps, and you most likely want a 3S system. It is better to get two lower capacity batteries as you are not carrying the weight of one bigger battery.

Seems like MRM does not handle batteries. This is from Hobby King, this is just to give you an idea on the capacity and C rate.

Here is how you get the Amp supply from C rate and mAh. It will be fine if you don't running the motors wide open for long periods of time ~10 seconds.


Also you need bigger ESCs, probably 18a, you need a little overhead to have nicer efficiency and so you don't burn these out.

That is correct, this is so it does not get hot or burn out. You may shop around for a battery about that size, HK usually have the best prices, but their shipping is usually higher. Be sure to buy from the US warehouse to avoid some of that shipping cost.

The amp load is also dependant on prop size.

IDK that's a weird site, I also don't like the unbranded motor you linked to.

This place would be a better choice, they have a good rep and you can get one of the most respected brands out there.

BTW you can see the Sunny X2204s in action with 6045 props here, in a 250 class tricopter.

Keep in mind that's the performance with only 3. Note the video was shot while hauling a GoPro.
