Agreed, and I didn't have a garage when that pic was taken but I invested in a really good cover for it.

Here's another shot of my Savage, with me on it, man! This was before I removed the rear suspension and replaced it with steel struts to lower the bike. (See first picture)

The cruisers seem to be winning so far.
Winning? I didn't know there was any competition!
As I've stated...my kick is riding slow on thumpers. I don't even take my bikes on the highway!
Being able to go 40MPH without having to pedal is miracle enough for me!

I used to have the Trail 70 (also around 14). Loved that little thing. My brother and I went joyriding one day without dad's permission while he was at work. After he whipped our butts, he sold it - lesson learned, but motorcycle forgotten - until today.

I hereby dub thee "Sir Torc the Sinister". Cool, who knew they had castles in Cincinnati.
Also, love those Surly bikes. Have a few friends with them, and was saving up for one, but sort of drifted away from cycling before I plunked down the money.

All told that cost me $1200 once I was done getting it together. Good thing was having a membership to a bike co-op. Saved me having to have the tools myself.

Yeah, I'll bet. I've got a Trek hybrid and a PureFix hanging on the wall in the garage and a couple unicycles up in the attic.
Mrs. Spork is considering getting a bike soon, so I may start thinking about the Surly again. I've got too much quad gear to get first, though, so may be riding my other two for a while.

I ended up selling it for far less for car parts I later found wasn't the problem. I went back to second hand bike frames for a while but life and unreliable players got in the way of Polo.
I was a pretty dedicated cyclist a few years back, but not the Lycra type. I ran with tall and freak cycle crew that rode all over Cincinnati, did full moon rides, pretty much partied on and around bikes. Commuted 17 miles into downtown regularly until I got a car and work in the suburbs.

I ride from time to time on my Globe commuter and with the weather eventually getting better I'll start commuting again the whopping couple of miles. Lol

Nice. I never considered commuting, as my job at the time was 32 miles - one way. Funny you mention not being in the Lycra crowd, I was the same. I ended up riding the 100k in the Hotter than Hell Hundred. After that, I downsized to casual weekend riding here and there. Still get out on the PureFix when the weather is nice, I love the simplicity of single speed, but I don't get anywhere fast. Great workout though, on the hills.

My 1971 Kawasaki Big Horn (not my picture).
I did not start riding until well into my 20s. I lived in an apartment, but had hundreds of acres of trails and open land available literally in my back yard.
The embarrassing part was that all the young kids in their Honda 90s could run circles around me.
It was pretty good on the streets and way fast for a 350 2 stroke.
