Obstacle Avoidance feature in toy drones

There are more and more "inexpensive" ( under C$100 ) toy drones equipped with obstacle avoidance option.
I wonder if it does deliver what it boasts?
Has anyone had one of those?

I cannot exactly give you an answer. There is a difference between obstacle avoidance, (detects, and goes around the obstruction)on higher-priced drones, and object detection (detects, stops, and beeps or goes backwards) on lower-cost drones.You can tell by an accessory that you snap on the top. Unfortunately, the word avoidance is misused esp on lower-cost drones. What you need to do is to see reviews on your drone where they rate the "avoidance".
