Hey guys, I'm back.
Thanks again for the assistance!
I've been getting a little air time, and crash time, in.
For other newbs who might be reading, the single most important rule my friend told me AFTER my first crash was after getting it up in the air, give the stick little bumps, don't push the sticks. He said newbs have a tendency to overcorrect. Once you get a feel for how much the sticks affect control, then start moving the sticks with your fingers.
Also, I've been trying to fly on calm days or time of the day so the wind doesn't mess me up too much. It's intuitive, I know, but don't be tempted to try a little more wind than you can handle.
The last thing I've been doing is getting a little altitude, then giving the copter yaw input so it is facing me. Then I just try to keep it in one place. I'm trying to teach myself the "reverse" inputs for when my quad is coming at me.
The next thing I'm going to work on is what I'm going to call a pendulum. Working forward and backward like a pendulum. I'm going to try not to go outside an imaginary box. I'm also going to go side to side with this exercise.
One step at a time!
