New budget fpv racing quad suggestions?

Hey guys, I'm looking into getting into fpv flying. I'm probably not going to be doing any racing but if I had the opportunity I can't say I would want to bow out. I'm mainly wanting a smaller nimble drone that I can fly through the woods in my back yard. I already have a spektrum dx7 so not really looking for a rtf, but the least I have to buy the better. I've been looking really hard at the eachine wizard the last few days, hard to find any negative reviews. Any other suggestions? I think maybe even more important that suggestions are any warnings? Are there any popular budget fpvs that are just absolutely junk and I should stay away from? Thanks in advance for any and all help!

Whoever would list the Eachine Racer 250 in a top 5 racing quad list is suspect. I had 3 and they where nothing but heavy, breakable garbage. Design was kind of unique but that was it. Eachine Falcon is pretty good but it follows a traditional design which makes it more durable. Forcing a person into troubleshooting and repair... Racer 250 will also do that, since it's owner will be spending lots of time replacing arms, ESCs, motors, cameras and VTXs and figuring out how to bypass the proprietary circuit board that eventually shorts out. :)

Yeah, I was going to say I've seen a ton of bad reviews about that racer 250. I really like the looks of that walkera f210 and the blade 25 would probably work very well for me because I already have a spektrum transmitter. Can't decide if I can get excited for the plastic body cover though. Anybody have experience with those two?

Are you set on getting a RTF? Building is the way to go. Eventually you get cocky and crash the hell out of it and will need to know how to fix it. A common X frame with readily available parts allows you to repair for pretty cheap. Builds are cheaper because you do the labor and have the added benefit of knowing what everything is and where and how its mounted. This will all serve you better when the eventual crashes or problems occur. Speed and agility increases can be done by tuning, weight elimination, prop selections, ESC, motor and battery upgrades... all the while working with a pretty cheap platform where frame parts are easily obtained.

Which by the way is another reason the Racer 250 sucks. It's proprietary design limits modifications to the point the a person is better off starting over with a different platform. (this happened to me after I stubbornly stuck with the ER 250 through three of them for parts etc...)

When I flew planes building wasn't my thing at all. I much more enjoyed fixing something compared to building. After I get started building may be an interest for me but I think I want something pretty close to ready to go to start with. Horizon had a bundle with that blade 25 which has everything but the tx. That's honestly exactly what I'm looking for.

Oh, and when did this banggood website pop up? I've never heard of it before but apparently it has the best drone prices from what I've seen.

Not much. It comes in halves so you first find the lenses that matched your eyes and then set it to the right distance. Then you glue the halves together and carve out facial/nose fitment so that its comfortable. Then stick on the comfort foam and pull the shell over and your golden. Everything but the glue comes with it. I just used duct tape so I can get back in there if needed.

Theres videos out there showing guys putting them together and adjusting etc... its pretty easy.

QAVR 220 X frame, A 250 generic X frame and a ZMR250 . Also have parts of 3 Eachine Racer 250s sitting in a box. I tried using the ER250 motors on a different frame, but they sent so much vibration through the Quad that the video has like looking through a water fall.
