Need to increase 5ghz wifi fpv range

Just bought a JJRC X5 Epic. I can get 2.4ghz remote control range of 500 meters, but the 2K 5.8ghz camera only gives me about 180 meters. As this is a brand new drone I don't want to do any invasive mod. I would like to increase the fpv range externally. The cellphone I'm using to receive is a 5ghz wifi HTC 10. Anybody out there have any suggestions?

Upgrade your vtx and reciever module. I hear the dji air unit has a great range and it's all digital.

The JJRC X5 Epic is a camera drone. It's not really the sort of drone your really going to get much out of. Your not going to be able to use the DJI air unit, or different VTX or even a different antenna. The antenna is likely soldered in place. It also uses wifi. It doesn't have a VTX. it has a wireless wifi connection and streams to your phone. Your pretty much stuck with what you have.
