Need some advice

Hi Guys,
New to the forum and would like to pick your brains. I have been flying twin rotor/single rotor copters for some years, but recently got a bit out of practice due to weather/ health etc. I am also a retired video producer and would like to buy a quad to do some aerial photography, but the question is which one.

Obviously PQ is important to me but without going overboard on price are there any quads with HD cameras which will deliver good results.

Any advice would be most welcome

Well to start what is your approximate price range?

Hi mate welcome to the forum , the best set up would be the DJI Phantom and gopro camera , if you look for the Phantom mark 1 the price is not bad as most want the newer Phantom vision 2 , pricey the batteries a lone will cost £80 a pop the mark 1 runs on a normal 2200mah 3 cell lipo and you can get these for £30 a pack of 2 So hows that for price
If your in the UK mark 1 is about £350 the newer is about £600 if you want it with a top spec gimbal its £900 ouch
the mark 1 will do everything you want it to do here are some videos of what the mark 1 will do

Thanks for the info, I have never flown a quad before and am a little nervous about writing off an expensive model. I know you can buy something like the Syma X5C-2 for very little money, would this be a good trainer (or one like it) before moving onto the big boys toys?

The two videos you posted shows that you only get what you pay for, and the cheap models, although they say the camera is HD, it isn't really.

Amy further advice is very welcome.

Hi Gordon the Phantom uses the Naza M ( full system) this is so good it will fly its self so its one of the easiest to fly , I know its a worry when you have £300+ flying
A cp Heli will cure you of that LOL £1500 look at a Micro quad like the CG022 this will teach you the controls

Lol, it is a great starter, I already broke mine. Make sure you either tape the battery in or something, because I Was doing a flip and the battery wrapped around the arm and I cracked the arm and not a motor does not work. I was a little surprised that it did not do more damage as I was easily 70+ feet in the air. HK has a nice quad if your willing to drop $450+ a Tx/Rx and goggles.

Sorry for not knowing but what does First Person View mean?

Ok mate its the view you get as if you was in the pilots seat you use goggles or a monitor to look in to and you then see what the camera on the quad sees like this , this is what you would see in the goggles or monitor

Thanks for the replies. I think I might start my quad experience by going for something like the Syma CX5C-2. before going to something more serious. I am in the UK, so the question is, do I have to buy one from China and also how will I know that I would receive the newest version ie the version 2, and not one of the earlier releases?
