So i finally got my quad frame and wiring figured out now i'm trying to setup my flight controller. the unit came with a cc3d but i couldn't find the wiring harness for it so i went ot the local store and thye gave me a naze32 flight controller. now i've installed the proper drivers for both the naze and the cc but when i plug them into the computer neither one is recognized. the naze has a blue light and a red flashing light. and the cc3d has a green light and a flashing blue light. I've tried the cc3d on librepilot and i've tried the naze on both clean flight and base flight. both just time out when i try to connect to them. it could just be the port number but i'm unsure how to locate the port name to manually enter it.

Is it for sure running librepilot and not something else like cleanflight? Also do you see it in the device manager? Usually selecting the wrong COM port is common problem as well so I'd verify that you are selecting the correct one.

Try this. Just click on the link and a box will open up and a status bar will progress. When it's done , you'll get a message "drivers fixed". That's it, your FC should connect

thank you I'll give it a go right away. i was able to connect both my boards to my laptop that is running windows 8. so it is just a driver issue with windows 10. on another note I've done my programming on my naze32 in clean flight and I've been able to get the motors to spin up in the program for testing. however i can't seem to get my transmitter to response in the program. i have bound the transmitter to the receiver as per the instructions in the devo 7 manual. but when i move the sticks I'm getting no response on the programs id bars.
