I was flying yesterday and my goggles went all static so I did what I always do and clicked the RTH switch. Well I must have been a lot lower than I thought and all i could see was the top of a tree as soon as the picture started coming back in. Then I heard the *BOOM* and then "telemetry lost" from my radio.
So I made my way over where I thought it landed (about 200 yards out), and there it was. Under about 3 feet of water. The batter was about 10 foot away so there was hope that it came disconnected before the quad hit the water. got it up and the entire gimbal was ripped off. Luckily I found it on the ground with the scratched up camera. The sd card had came out a little so the video was corrupted or I would have posted it.
Spend most of the evening taking everything apart and blowing it with a heat gun. Hooked everything back up today piece by piece and everything was working!!!
Lost my new ET600, Broke frame, bent a shaft on one of the gimbal motors, props, battery, and I think I am going to have to replace a couple of motor bearings. They sound smooth when spinning them with power, but They don't sound smooth when spinning by hand.
I feel pretty fortunate that it survived being under water. Just thought I would share.
