After boxing my broken MP Select Mini and left for dead for 3 months, and armed with limited understanding of 3D printers accumulated from a short 5 months experience, I decided to give it one more try to fix it.
First off, the Bowden connector ( exstrude coupler?) was broken. Unable to secure the Bowden tube. It is made in a different version , unlike the stock version which is used by many 3D printers. So I had to buy it from Gigdigit.
Then the Thermistor was broken off from the hot end heat block. I was unable to solder it back. Bit the bullet, and bought an entirely assembled hot end from Gigdigit.
Then I found out that the filament was unable to pass through the 3.5mm PTFE liner tube to the nozzle. So, I had to cut the filament end into an arrow head shape for ease of going through the tube.
Bed leveling was a pain. Never stayed leveled. Probably worn out springs. Again bought a new set of springs from Gigdigit.
Now the printer is humming along nicely.
My MP Select Mini is not an expensive paper weight any more, but it did burn a hole in my wallet buying those new parts. Gigdigit is very expensive.
