This is my latest buld quad, it still using parts from my first build :

Suppo bl-2814/6 1400kv motors
50A opto esc also from suppo
10mm x 10mm aluminium for the arm and landing skid
Custom lasercut mdf body (planning to change it with something lighter in the future)
5400mah 45c battery (planning to add another one to pararel it)
Cc3d FC (planning to upgrade it to cc3d revo)

Total airweight is about 2500grams with camera and gimbal attached.

Total thrust is about 8000 grams with 10x6 props

Are those 46 gram ESCs made for multirotors?

Think I would have gone with some multirotor ready SimonKs.

Tried to find some specs on your motors, found this.

Hahaha, actualy the store where i bought the motors end escs are specialized for plane and helis. And that time i didn't really understand the differences between the escs or motors, But when i set up the esc with the cc3d GCS, it automaticly set the frequency to 490hz, and i can't find anything wrong when i try to flew the quad. It responded nicely with the stick input.
The only complain was the flight time, only 5 minutes LOL.
Planning to pararel the battery to 3s2p or 3s3p and using balsa for parts of the body to lighten it

I really like the design, also if you have problems with stabilizations try flying without auto-level and just stabilization. If that fixes it then your FCB is getting too much vibration.

If those motors are even able to handle 40 amps then that much thrust can be expected. I agreed until I saw the big ESCs


I believe that the 6 pitch props may be a little big, check to see if anything is getting hot if so switch to 9x6 props and if your going to be using plane props I suggest you move to lightweight wood props, they are stiff, cheap, and better balanced than CF props.

The one that getting hot are the cables, the one that attached to the battery and the xt60 connector. I think the amps draw are a bit high, i'm buying another battery today to make it 3s2p configuration and change some mdf with balsa to lighten the weight.

As it is right now, the quad start to take off with just 40% of thrust and hover at 30% of power, at the cc3d gcs, i set the max throttle at 60%, so even i push the stick all the way up, it only give 60% of power.

The props i'm using right now are not even CF heheheh, it was plastic props. It was a nightmare when i tried to balance it, but the 9x6 sounds good, maybe i'm gonna cut the spare 10x6 prop to 9x6 and give it a try. I had ordered the wood props from hobbyking, it will arrive in about 2 weeks

Check your soldering, you probably have a cold joint giving resistance. I have found that any worthwhile CF props are expensive and wood is as good as CF IMHO and a lot cheaper.

Roger that, i will check the soldering when i put the extra conector for parareling the battery.

After a few frame built, finally came up with this design, i'm able to cut the weight from 2500grams to 1800 grams, and maximize the flight time from 5 minutes to 9 minutes. Using some leftover acrylic from my workshop and using a servo to stabilize the camera.

Now trying a multiwii fcb coz cc3d doesn't have an altitude hold feature. (The multiwii hasn't been instaled yet)
The center of gravity is slightly off to the front, maybe gonna change the design for 1 more time to move the middle arms slightly to the front to have better ballance

The thing is, i made a cut under the body tha the battery can sit perfectly so it wont shifted during flight, but i miscalculated the front being heavier because of the camera and gimbal. The current fcb (cc3d) still can compensate for it but i think in a long term it will stress out the front motor more.
