My last ditch effort to learn

This will be my last attempt to learn flying FPV quad with goggle and stuff.
I just bought a Emax EZ Pilot bundle from GETfpv. If that fails, I shall go back to my old reliable, Bugs 3, Eachine EX2H, XK X300, and SJRC Z5.
And no more new "toy" drones either as most, if not all, are 5g Wifi. I'll be damned if I spent a few hundred dollars for a 5g Wifi capable smartphone just for that. I am crazy. Not that crazy.

Glad to hear you're giving it a go I gotta say I do love this thing I've been bashing it up like crazy and just stuck it in a tree and turtle mode/crash flip mode came to the rescue to shake it from the tree. Suggest going into betaflight and make sure you know what switches get you into flip over mode, basically you disarm go into flip mode then arm again then using right stick only can push forward back left or right and will spin two of your motors backwards to effectively flip it or possibly knock loose from a tree (don't get too crazy with it can still cook esc/motor when doing the flip over but so far so good and the race version I got is pretty durable and think this one has even more protection so hopefully holds up. I just bought 4 more batteries for it as well.

I meant to buy more batteries too. I always make sure I have 2 to 3 for each drone, depending on the drone's flight time.
But I failed to find them in GetFPV.
Would you please provide me a link for more batteries?

I kind of found it in Amazon.ca. BUT, it says ……….

NOTE : it specifies 3.8V.

According to GETfpv,EZ Pilot uses 3.7V battery...…...

I grabbed some tattu ones from Amazon but would wait to see how the connector is setup with that one for mine it's setup with two 450mah 1S batteries to make a 2S. It came with a connector to put the two 1S batteries in series but I ended up taking that off and just putting a male xt-30 on there but I grabbed the race version since I already had goggles and transmitter.

Obviously you have not seen my Post #4.
My question being...… is it ok for me to buy those 3.8V batteries from Amazon.ca for my Emax EZ Pilot which supposedly uses 3.7V battery.

Yah believe you'll be totally fine assuming emax tiny hawk 2 race edition is the same electronics and just different shell since mine is running on two HV cells in series which is 4.35x2 can see the voltage in the dvr of last flight vid I posted this week too. So I'm taking off at 8.6V and landing at around 6.6V to keep the cells healthy.

Edit had wrong value for fully charged HV cells but they are 2 HV cells in series they sent me with it so should be fine HV or not on 1S since even okay with 2S HV (nothing smoked yet)

Mine is meant to be flown 1S or 2S but yah so long as same esc/fc combo board and vtx it should be fine.

My Emax EZ Pilot just arrived today, June 23rd.
No user manual? If I knew how to set that thing up, would I have bought a "beginner" version? Found what I need to know from U-tube.
Got 2 antenna instead of one. Ha!

Question on charging the drone battery ……………...
I plugged it in and it turned Green. I thought it was ready. Flew it and few seconds later, the drone landed by itself. Assuming that the battery was low, I recharged it. BUT it turned GREEN right away. So, I tried to play the drone again, 2 seconds later it landed by itself.
So, when charging the battery, it is fully chargedl when it is RED ?

I know the battery has only 4 mi8nutes flight time, but this one quits a lot earlier than that.
I have purchased 4 more batteries from Amazon same time I bought this drone from GETPV, but delivery won't be until Aug. How ridiculous it is to have to take so long, even from China. This is supposed to be 21st Century.

Not sure which charger they sent you maybe a pic and me or someone else can identify it.


If it is this one the LEDs flash green when nothing hooked up they go solid green when charging and they turn off when fully charged... Kind of crappy user interface if you ask me but they do the job.

Full charge from empty is usually about an hour. With my tiny hawk 2 race it runs on two 1S tacked together to make 2S 450mAh and gets 5-7 min flight depending on wind and excessive power loops

Oh also agree they went a little too minimalist on the documentation if you didn't already know how to setup betaflight with a new receiver there isn't much guidance here. The kakute F7 flight controller manual is the opposite goes into insane depth but still have to just get it online they don't print it for you which is fine, with tiny hawk they should have included the same kind of obvious instructions card with link for detailed manual instead of leaving everyone to search on their own.

The charger, when connected to the USB port, will be blinking green.
When battery is plugged into the charger, the charger turns solid green right away.
I had been charging this battery that comes with the drone, never saw charger tuned red.
Funny thing is, after the 2nd charging, I flew the drone with it, and it lasted quite well, about 3 minutes.




I have some 3.8V 500mah batteries. Same type of connector as the drone, except that won't fit into the drone's battery bracket.
Drone flies with it ok with the battery hanging below the belly.

Yah it should just turn the light off entirely once the battery is charged, the other parts sound the same as behavior on mine think mine is the same design just repeated a bunch of times to support charging a few cells at once, it works well and each cell is individually charged still so don't have to worry about them being the same voltage like you do if using a parallel charge board.

Yes. Just found out that the green light gets shut off when fully charged.

I'm kinda new at this stuff but, one tip I would offer is. Spend enough to get a quad that has two speeds. Start to learn in slow speed , when you think you know it all, speed it up, haha. One thing nice here is, in slow speed you have almost enough time to think of what your doing. At 40 miles an hour , well just start praying you find the thing after you pile it up. Slower has it's place . there will always be enough time to catch up. It is my firm belief that you will learn faster, and cheaper. Has anyone noticed these things cost.

Simulators like "lift off" or "velocidrone" save lots of time effort and cash in rebuilding but no sim gets close to real world in terms of locations (ms flight sim aside )

Similators are nice but, they don't muddle your mind like having the real thing. They don't put the real stress on you. That's the hard part to learn. Not to panic.

Sims are great for getting overall stick motions figured out for like power loop or split s or going through gates at weird angles in real life tricks tend to result in exploded quads if I haven't got them locked down in sim. Real life risk adds a lot of pressure for sure and sims never match exactly with your quads but is good enough to know broadly what you're aiming for and should expect.
