My Introduction

First, Hello everyone.

I'm a NEWB . I have been around RC most of my life. But never anything that fly's. I need a hobby to unwind mentally, and this is working. I like it, it gets me out into the fresh air and is a rush. So, I just finally bought a none toy grade quad.

Spec's

Vortex 150 Mini
Taranis qx7
3c 850mAh/75c tattu (3 packs)
ONYX 230 charger (and lipo bag)
3 extra sets of propellers


Needs/Short list

Balancer (I have one that will do a 3 cell but the connection is set up for 2 cell...)
FPV goggles
Batteries!!!


If anyone has any advice please feel free to share.

Hello, welcome to the forum.
If your going to buy fatshark type goggles then make sure the ipd inter pupillary distance is correct for you.

...then read a million tests and reviews, and realize there is probably a better prop for your build. Buy some of those, and repeat the process!

And then buy the latest prop that comes out that are overly priced. My favourite prop is the cyclone V2. £2.99set
Recently I managed to get 20 emax Avans dual blade, 10cw10ccw. £13. And I seen racekraft 5051 for £1.19 a set on Tom smith's Quadcopters.co.uk so I got 20 sets.
I packed in smoking so I buy em every week or so. I got spares of everything except fcb's. I even got about 130 set of the old dual blade that are 2 years old.
Free set of props x2 with all builds I sold. Dal, kingkong, gemfan. Probably enough to last a year but you can never have enough props.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome.

Good advice with the props. I plan on going with/have gone with, some that I can grab from the local shop for $3.00 a set (4). They actually feel better than the stock ones (thinner & slightly smaller) . Much more smooth, but slightly slower on a recovery from a long decent. Still have a lot more money to spend before I even consider spending money on expensive props.

I know what hardware I need, I just need my wife to "OK" (for the married folks, they know what i'm saying . Now I am trying to wrap my pee brain around PID and Rates. Ive been looking around and none of the videos I have watched seem to work for me. I will keep looking. Edit, I think I finally might have found one!
