Motor, ESC and Servo for DX6i

Hi Experts,

I have recently bought Spectrum DX6i and AR6200 for a quadcopter. Now I'm looking to buy Brushless Motors, Props, ESC's, Control Circuit board and Servo's.

My questions are

1. Do I need to buy all those specified components in compatible with the Spectrum DX 6i and AR6200 or they are universally compatible with all transmitters and receivers ?

2. If not, where can I find those list of compatible parts for my transmitter and receiver?

Kindly suggest.

Pretty much all you need to know is if you need a flight controller for PWM or PPM(AKA CPPM) other than that most everything is universally compatible. The AR6200 should be PWM which is fairly standard.

This is my first quadcopter im building, is there a chart of something kind of where I can look at the motor, prop, ESC, Battery to compare their compatibility and buy. As i'm reading that the Motor might get heated up if it's lower than ESC AMP's ... So I'm looking for some chart or guidelines like that.

Other way around actually, the motor will draw however many amps it 'wants' and both the ESC and the motor will suffer depending on which is rated for lower amperage. If you are using 20 amp ESCs on motors rated for 8 you don't have a problem, but if you put too big a prop on the motor and force it to spin up to where it draws over the rated amperage the motor will be likely to fail first. If you have the same motor with a 4 amp ESC and just use it with regular use the ESC will likely catch fire or burn out. Also overdrawing the battery will decrease the life of the battery, damage it, or could cause it to overheat resulting in fire.


I don't really know of any charts or graphs, we usually just remember due to experience and seeing a lot of builds and use these calculators hahahaha.
