Greetings all, I'm new to the quadcopter/drone world and just made my first purchase. I chose the X5c-1 as my starter, to get me used to handling and control before I move on someday.
It occurs to me though, that similar circuitry and electronics are used in things like Airsoft guns and other toys/hobbies. Which leads me to the question... How moddable are most of these quadcopters?
Are motors things you can swap out fairly easily, or are you then getting too deep into the ''science'' aspect of things... I.E. Too much torque/lift for a frame etc. My question being, if I want to dump a few extra bucks in the future to upgrade my X5c-1, higher rpms/better props/longer range... Is this platform just TOO entry level to mod?
And addressing the science aspect, is there a way to determine what it's capabilities are? How can I tell what will be TOO much for it's frame or other parts?
Dug around on here for a good thread on this question but didn't turn anything up. Won't be offended if the Mod's move this or if someone can point me in the right direction.
