So I've been looking, researching this drone thing. First I was thinking Mavic , mainly for its range. I have 100 acres I live on which is about 3/4 mile from end to end, open, trees , ponds, and a creek. Main reason for the drone is surveillance type stuff on my property, don't think I'll take it anywhere else but who knows.
So I've been asking about this, some say learn on what you are going to fly, others say get a starter/cheap drone to learn on, I counted, there at 39,586,294 drones to choose from, how confusing.
So I was looking at the Spark.. a easy to learn "selfie" drone... And I was thinking, I could get the Spark fly more combo and with the controller I could get up to 1.2 miles of range.. I know, I know on a perfect day in the perfect place, but still... My house is toward the center of my property so I really have maybe 1/2 mile to the edges.
Back to the spark.. I could start learning in the yard, with no controller to start, add the phone app and get a little better, then add the controller at some point to get the distance to fly around the property.
What do you think, or am I just dreaming here???
I REALLY don't want to lose a $500-$1000 drone....
