Santa brought me another present today..i must have been a good boy..Yea right

So my lovely little JJRC 1000A and Tarantula X6 radio showed up fromDealsMachine..Apparently when i ordered they determined my being in the USA and the packages were shipped via a USA warehouse as the first initial tracking showed it was sent from Inwood, Ny.

It did take about 6 days however for any shipping to actually occure..So it took about 2 weeks or so to receive it.

None the less happy its here and only waiting delivery on one more package from Sweden which is a Bayang X9 (Blade nQX) clone.

My list is not however complete and these are on it for purchase
1.) SYMA X5C-1 (or FY 326)
2.) TARANTULA X6
3.) EACHINE H8 MINI
4.) NIHUI U807
5.) Mould King 33041

That was my list of quads to purchase as they all seem to be the more popular models.

I need to ad the x6058 but they are sold out everywhere but the more expensive places to buy it.

I do have semi sad news...i broke the body shell on my hubsan from landing in field grass of all things..Crazy glue doesnt appear to adhere to this plastic.


Good thing the guts are coming out anyways..lol

Sorry for the crash. Next time use Bob Smith Industries IC-2000 CA glue. It adheres to anything but water! I used it to repair a bracket on one of the oil coolers on my bike a year ago. Still there. Strongest CA I've found yet.

Man, this jjrc1000 is like a bee on steroids..I tried 100 percent rate and the pitch is insane on it, giving it ALOT of speed.

It weighs .2g less than the hubsan and will flat out smoke the hubsan in a drag race..haha.

It fights wind very easily also..i dont think its as stable as the hubsan though..It just has this "fly me fast" attitude...even of 40 percent rate it cuts wind and is responsive.

Im eager to try this board in a larger model..One guy put one in the FY326 and says it out does anything the x5c can do.

I found the fy326 Rtf for $16.00...i may go ahead and get one..It uses larger 8.5mm motors as well...Should make for a fun project.

A little more about the radio.

The sticks feel pretty nice actually for a cheap radio..Overall you can tell its cheap but it does its job quite well...I dont notice any dead spots in the throttle and it shows the real time percentage of input from both sticks..The jjrc likes to hover steadily at 51% throttle but, will lift off the ground around the 40'ish mark.

The light button also works for the jjrc to turn them on or off...The rate mode is easily selected on the fly with 40 60 and 100 percent modes.

I can see why its a popular quad and radio combo..it just works well together.

Looking forward to flying a few quads using the same radio..From what i understand it works with the jjrc H8C as well as the jjrc H6C models and of course the tarantula x6 quad.

It seems to be a flysky WL toys 2x2 protocol so, anything that uses that protocol, this radio can be used for.

It does have a video on and off and a picture button as well..For the $12.00 i paid ,im feeling it was worth every penny for what it is.

The black button at the top left hand corner is the rates button..The same on the right side is for flips...the lower left is for return to home function with quads that have that feature...The rest should be self explanatory in the pics.

Just flew the jjrc with the mini pet and the hubsan props..The mini pet props are a bit longer but its creating amazing lift and makes it a little more stable...It shoots straight up like a rocket..hahaha.

With the hubsan props which are shorter than the jjrc, it buzzes a bit more but they also work well with the jjrc.

I have to say. You sure found a way to have fun cheaply in this hobby. None of these quads are large enough or costly enough to cause any real damage. If you wanna go cheap then this is the way to do it. Not with 8lb quads that can cause real damage. I've been having a lot of fun with my X5c1. I'm thinking of drilling the body to drop more weight. I tried trimming my propellers and all I've done so far is make them out of balance. Hahaha!!

Alot are using the Devo 7e TX which wakes up the x5c as you can program in more pitch, yaw etc...

Or for a lesser expensive way to wake it up just slap a jjrc 1000 board in it and get a tarantula x6 radio and be done with it.

The factory radio doesnt do the stock board any justice...It doesnt provide the pitch and yaw its capable of.

As of right now a HOT "cheap" set up is either the jjrc board and x6 radio or simply buying the FY326 with larger 8.5mm motors and doing the same thing with the jjrc board and x6 radio.

I have a feeling ill be buying alot of jjrc bind and fly quads to use the boards out of...One good thing is spare 7mm motors and props for other projects.

Even though the x6 radio is just rate select...at 60% it would be more pitch than the x5c at 100 percent and this of course will increase speed.

At 100 percent the pitch is so much you would think you could do a manual flip but cant..hahaha...its almost straight up and down on 100 percent..its insane really...i find myself having to back off the pitch to keep from flying into the ground at full pitch.

This board and x6 radio can wake up pretty much anything and make it into a sport flyer.

Impressive. I had no idea you could do so much with these. Can you use the other Devo radios? Like the 8 or 10? The reason I ask is I can pick one up from a buddy for $25. I just don't remember if it's a 8 or 10.

To be honest im not sure but, i dont see why you couldnt..As long as its got deviation programming..Its not a bind and fly deal...the protocol for the syma has to be programmed in with the proper module.

One thing im seeing with the devo is people are adding on to them to fly numerous protocols with one radio.

You essentially build on it to fly whatever protocol you want...you could could fly the syma and your hobby quads with the same radio and never need another one again...At least thats how im seeing it with the devo radios.

There is a website dedicated to the devo and who ever started it is constantly updating and figuring ways to bind more and more models with programming.

Absolutely zero voodo..solder your wires and bind and fly.

Turn on quad first...then radio then a quick up and back down with the throttle and its bound...To reset board gyro calibration you put the radio in 100 percent rate and pull both sticks lower left and done.
