Hi all!
I know there are some specific questions about at least one of the models I am listing here but most were inconclusive. I'm hoping someone with experience can help me make a choice on my purchase.
I bought my son a Syma X1 for Christmas a few years back and he rarely got to touch it after that. At some point I got busy and it went in a drawer long enough for the batteries to no longer charge. (I've ordered some new ones).
Since then I saw a news article about FPV Quad racing. I started watching the videos and I was drooling all over myself immediately.
I absolutely have to get into this but money is an issue. I've got my wife convinced to forget any cutesy BS ideas she had for Christmas presents and hook me up with an entry level, under $200 toy.
I've been reading for days and had settled for the most part on the Hubsan 107d x4 FPV for about $150 plus some extra batteries and a fisheye mod.
Today I saw the UDI Lark/Falcon and started to waiver. I like the size and the controller layout a lot. I know I will practice outdoors quite a bit so I thought maybe the size would be an advantage over the mini. I've also seen some reviews on the Syma X8W. My virgin experience with Syma was great but I've seen negative reviews on this quad.
I know if I want a real FPV experience I need to spend more money but first I need to try it out on something inexpensive and prove to the wife I will actually play with this thing for more than a month. (Toy ADD). I want my first, cheap FPV to be decent enough to fly solely with the screen. I know the quality won't be too fantastic on the toy grade but I'd like to know which one of the three I listed has the least lag and the best clarity.
Hopefully you guys can help me out.
Thanks!
