Fishy Tree
Yup, I wrecked again...
Hey guys, I lost my damn quad! I was doing some night flying (witch is the most fun to me) and got it stuck about 65-75 feet up in a very old and large Catalpa tree after my battery died mid flight. My first thought was to blow up the tree with Tannerite to get it down. Of course, I was just upset and did not do this.(although I could have)
After about 2 hours of throwing golf balls and casting fishing lines in the dark I decided to give up for the night as it was a clear night, but quite windy. I figured it would blow out during the night, witch it must have because I came out the next day around 11AM and it was gone. No longer in the tree, but no where around it ether. My father, brother and I searched a 150 foot radius all day. My next door neighbor even spent the entire day using his FPV quad assisting in the search, and my cousin brought her metal detector. no luck. We did find a Hot Wheels car, a Camaro, witch I kept
Anyway after an entire day of searching we decided to call of the search. Not a half mile from my house is a very popular weekend destination for the entire county. So we all assume some one found it and kept it. I put a lost and found ad on my local Craigslist but have heard nothing.
I have to admit this because I feel it's relevant. I honestly cried for about 10-20 minutes. It's only $150 LaTrax Alias, but it was my first quadcopter and I was very sad to lose it. It's ok though, I am already in the process of building a new, all white Alias. I already have so many parts for the Alias, that I can build a new one for under $80. Worth it to me.
Just left this thread to share my experience in actually losing a quad for good. If anyone else has had to experience this tragic experience, please share it!
