I keep killing ESCs...

Ive been trying to get my 250 build off the ground for about a month now. I threw it together, connected the battery, everything beeped appropriately (and all motors twitched). Disconnect battery, hook up flight controller and programed through Openpilot, get to the ESC calibration and I have no beeps. Disconnect flight controller, connect battery again, and I only have 3 working ESCs (one motor didn't twitch). Also noticed that the shrink wrap on the ESC had holes burned in it. Contacted the manufacturer, no issues, replacement sent. Just got the replacement, put everything back together. Same procedure, same result (different ESC). If I leave the battery connected for ~30 seconds, ALL of the working ESCs begin to get very hot. This is with no load on them, they are just sitting idle and burning up.

Im new to this, so im completely lost...

CC3D flight controller
ARRIS 12A ESCs
EMAX MT1806 motors
FLYSKY TH9x/FS-R9B
Turnigy 11.1v, 3300 mah LiPo

Might also be worth mentioning that if I have all of the ESCs connected to the flight controller, I have no beeps. However if I disconnect the bad one, I get beeps from the working ones. The same happens if I completely disconnect the flight controller.

ESC will reach about 125 degrees Fahrenheit (measured with cheap IR thermometer), before getting unplugged, might go higher but I'm trying not to kill the ones I have left

Chip is the cx1117-5.0, datasheet says its a low dropout voltage regulator, which makes me think there's an issue with the BEC on these chips

like I said, this is all wizardry to me, so I might just be grasping at straws here

Hi mate , I cant find the info I want on your ESCs , it says BEC internal which means nothing , I think its a linear Bec which can get very hot , the switching Bec is better , all may not be lost get a good Bec to run the FCB and receiver and not use the built in one of the ESC , if one ESC is bad it will overload the system so nothing will work this is why when the bad one is unplugged the others bleep
Some Cheap ESCs are just bin jobs so if your looking at new ones get a little better spec ones but for now look at a good BEC ,this is cheap but really good
