Thank Heaven we can use a quadcopter forum for discussions like this. I was worried we might talk about the hobby that is the unifying theme that brings people here. You cannot imagine my relief.
Hey Doc............I like it. I always figured once a question/problem/subject has been hashed out, one should be able to have some fun. I mean................that's why I play with quads/drones............I'm doing it for the fun............still fun though, none the less
"Southern" as in a great number of Philadelphia residents moved there from The South. Mom was from Athens, Ga, Dad came from Knoxville, Tn. I've spent time in Laredo as well as just North of the Florida Keys (Is that "South" enough for you?). As for "up North". I've been to where I-95 ends at the Canadian border, and still kept going North in Maine on US 1, looking across the street into Canada while driving farther North in Maine. "Southern" is as much a state of mind, as it is a geographical position. I was born up North, but with the majority of my family either from The South or in The South, I think like a "Southerner". By the way. The Air Force regards Ellsworth AFB in South Dakota where I was stationed, as a "Southern" base, for purposes of assignments.... Yoos guys call Philly "southern society" or even country ?! ... ROFLMAO ... Don't misunderstand, I'm am not and was not slamming country folk, rednecks,
southerners, et al. I'm simply making a statement, in agreement to and regarding Yay's dismay at being "smarter than the average bear" (Hey BooBoo. Yes Yogi ?)
yet he winds up swinging a hammer for a living.
I'm born and raised Texan (ain't gettin much more southern than that) and also lived in Virginia and North Carolina, which I believe qualifies me more to accurately assess
southern mentality than anyone from above the Mason Dixon line.
I've also lived and played in New Jersey, New York, and Washington D.C., which has given me the privilege of understanding both the northern and southern mindsets,
so I stand by remark, society (in general) and southern society (in particular) simply have a certain disdain (perhaps a better word?) for highly intelligent nonconformists.
And that's just a simple observation, not "being uppity" ... lol ...
"Southern" is as much a state of mind, as it is a geographical position.
Sure you could, Doc..........why stop now???... Can't argue with that

I was in Arkansas, Missouri, Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, both Carolinas, Florida, Virginia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania. All since Monday. Is that "getting out" enough?Y'all need to get out more......
Well, kinda............but other then Maryland and Pennsylvania, you weren't really any place different. Now, Mississippi, Arkansas, Missouri, Kansas, Colorado, Wyoming, Utah, Nevada and California in 56 hours. As far as places lived.............I grew up in a "traveling" family. As an adult I've lived within 60 miles of the southern most point in the US. Worked and hunted at the northern most point. The only two states I haven't been in long enough to have a meal are Georgia and Florida............Is that "getting out" enough?

I passed through Mississippi from just South of Memphis, on my way to Florida. As for states that I haven't been in, that's just two. Alaska, and Hawaii.Well, kinda............but other then Maryland and Pennsylvania, you weren't really any place different. I go to the "Animal House" on a regular basis. They go in intact and breathing, and come out prepackaged for you to cook or heat and serve....I have an idea, my first one this year (that is known as self deprecating humor, some of y'all should learn that). You know who you are. Don't make me point you out hehehe....
We should take this act on the road, we may end up in Vegas. Or jail.
We could call it "Animal House on Wheels and Drones"
