Help with baseflight and naze 32

Im hoping someone can help with an issue im having. I have the d4r_2 reciever and naze 32. connects to baseflight. Blue light on. When I get to the part where I am suppose to be able to move the sticks and show it on the screen, no go. Also no connection to move motors. Wired for PPM. Any suggestions?

Picture of wiring? Have you set up your serial input on the configuration? Enabled ppm on your board?

I'm no expert but on the setups I've seen when inputting with PPM, you need to put a jumper across channels 3&4?

here is an exact diagram of how I hooked them up. Basically, I followed bruce's 4 part youtube vids on "budget build" except using 20a ESC's instead of 15a. (Bruce from rcmodelreviews.com)

Yes, that's used to enable ppm output from the rx. On the wiring diagram, you can see jumper between 3 & 4

makes since now. Ive watched a billion youtube videos this month and in the binding process, they always take the binding cable off. This is more than just for binding apparently. its to be left on as you said! I hope thats all and I can get her to fly tonight!

The good. That was it! The sticks react in baseflight. The bad. The motors don't turn under "motor testing"???

Are the escs beeping when you connect power?

More Specifically, the motors will turn now. I forgot my naze board is installed upside down. Now that the esc wires are correct, motors spin during "motor testing" but not disconnected. Does this mean it's not armed? I held the throttle down and right. Nothing happened

When you say upside down, do you mean, literally, the underside of the board faces up? In that case, you cannot arm, you need to either flip the board right side up, or change the orientation inside configuration. Does the green light come on when it arms?

It does not need to be armed when testing the motors in bf while using the sliders. Can you flip the board upside down in bf?

Is there a reason you want to install it upside down?

It wasn't upside down after all. The arrow was on top. Someone told me the orange esc wires go up and they don't.

can you confirm the board is arming? green light appears?

No. Solid blue light only on naz. Green solid on receiver

check that throttle goes to minimum accepted level, quadcopter is level, and rudder travel is sufficient to trigger the arming of the board. You could try assigning a switch to arm the board. If it still doesn't arm, Check all the connections

Are your channels mapped correctly? You will have to arm to use the radio to throttle the motors from the tx.
