H or X shape quad?

Hi all,
Been thinking about making some stuff at my workplace that has all sorts of machinery, i was looking around and i wanted to get peoples opinion on H frame or X frame layouts?
Draw backs or advantages?

H would give more room for stuff for sure but not sure anything else.

What flight controller, and what type of flying? DJI flight controllers and h frames take a little creativity on the yaw function.

250 for fpv. I realise i actually mean I shape, but square wheelbase. i assume as long as the motors are equal distance apart, it can be any shape?

You are right. A square wheelbase is naturally stable and doesn't require any special FC tuning. The "I" configuration is particularly good because it better balances pitch and roll authority in forward flight than the standard "X" layout. Your project should be very easy to fly.

There are many variations these days. Assume the motors are at each corner.

Let's call #1 square. Many racing quads these days are more like #2, a little wider than square, the ZMR250 being one of many. #3 would be a typical 'H', but then again some would also refer to #2 as an 'H'.

That's were the KK2 boards have an advantage. CC3D's GCS software offers a few choices, but no mixer editor for exact tweaks.
