Damaged the antenna plug on reciever, buzzkill???:


Apparently there are solder pads on the back to direct solder antenna:

Question: can you just strip off some wire and direct solder an antenna? I'm going to do it anyway and just wondering what results I might expect?

Good idea or don't waste of kwad? What do yall think?

I do this with my video Tx antennas a lot cause I hate connectors. I just de-solder the ufl and use the same pads. You should use ground for the metal shielding, and the very center wire goes to ant. Should be fine with a receiver.

Yup just don't kink or shorten the exposed part of the antenna wire it should be around 12.3mm or whatever the speed of light is (roughly 3x10⁸ or 300,000,000 m/s divided by 2.4GHz (or 2.4 billion) and get 12.5mm as the length for a wave at that frequency.

It's working fine lol direct soldering reciever antennas is on the table.

Flysky gets a bum rap but the fact that make their $9 reciever easily repaired is cool!

Indeed that is a huge bonus often things break in or at the connector for antenna and are up a creek.
