I personally fly with a gopro3 black 1080p @60fps. Awesome quality.
I have been thinking about an sj5000 plus, but have not made the leap just yet.

There are 2d and 3d gimbals. The 3d makes a little nicer video, but they are usually much higher than a 2d. Just having a gimbal makes a huge difference in video stability.

The moderators here just posted a review of the eachine 2d gimbal, and I think they may be able to get it for half price so you may want to hit one of them up.
