Based quadcopter gods, I beg for your mercy and guidance.
Seriously though, I am in the midst of planning my first build, and could really use some advice on the project's current state. From my browsing, I came up with this setup:
Frame
Turnigy Talon Quadcopter (V2.0) Carbon Fiber Frame 550mm
280g $55 Link
Control Board
HobbyKing® KK2.1HC Multi-Rotor Hard Case Flight Control Board
32g $25 Link
Motors
NTM Prop Drive 28-26 1000KV / 235W
272g $64 Link
Props (10in)
1045 Turnigy Slow Fly Propeller (2x CW 2x CCW)
60g $4 Link
ESCs
TURNIGY Plush 18amp Speed Controller
136g $48 Link
Battery
Turnigy nano-tech 2200mah 3S 45~90C Lipo Pack
201g $21 Link
Factoring in other components such as RX and wiring, my total weight estimate is 1120g.
My current principle concern is with the weight versus thrust. I guess this is THE principle concern with flight ... but I digress; my calculation comes out to 700g max thrust per motor, 2.8kg total. So, two questions: Is my battery/esc/motor/prop calculation correct? And what will 2.8kg of thrust reliably allow me to handle weight-wise? (In the likely even that I attach more doodads to my quad.)
Any other advice on the components is welcome. I greatly appreciate the read.
