1.2 / 1.3 GHZ: A very good frequency with some really good transmitters / receivers available. These frequencies have little interference and great long range potential. With the state of the art, high performance transmitters and receivers available, this is the best medium, and long range frequency for most people. I highly recommend spending a little more and getting LAWMATE 1000 mW TX and the Lawmate receiver also for this frequency. Just remember, if you get cheap Chinese equipment, you may get bad performance. The only bad thing about 1.2 GHZ is that there are very few ready made antennas available, some good ones can be found, but there are just as not as many choices. I would recommend the Yagi antenna linked below for long range, and the patch antenna linked below for shorter and medium ranges. For best performance and range of the transmitter, I would recommend the vertical dipole transmitter antenna found HERE, it will increase the performance of the transmitter by a large amount and make it run cooler. If you can find a good quality transmitter / receiver, and good antennas, this is probably the best all around frequency for flying long range in any location.
