If it ain't broke, don't fix it??? You kidding?
I got done with assembling an S500 kit with the APM 2.8 FC. For a solid month(not full time of course) I've been fighting with a "yaw offset" of 160 to 200 degrees. Just as it would start to lift off, it would be turning and then digging in the dirt.
I didn't like the mount for the compass/gps module and got a new one a couple days ago. Move it behind the FC(which is what I wanted) but I had to turn the module 180deg so that the printed arrow on the cover was pointing south. Come in early this morning and when connected to Mission Planner, lo and behold..........my yaw offset is 3 degrees.
Needless to say, I got all excited(think teen at prom night), took it outside and I had 1 semi-successful flight(lost my mind when it lifted off cleanly) then 3 success full 20ft alt. x 100ft distance . liftoff, fly, return and land.
FRANKENDRONE LIVES!!
