I'll try and buy some longer screws, my vtx and receiver don't even fit inside the top part of the drone, or on top of the pdb/FC

So how am I supposed to build it if the VTX/receiver don't even fit inside the tower or on top of the FC, along with the stack :/

I think I need extended standoffs, because it doesn't even fit if I have the regular ones.
Also the receiver holes are too small to fit on top of the FC.... Anyone who has a solution? I can't get a hold of any longer screws...

in the united states, application of either wd-40 or duct tape are alleged to fix everything. i don't know if they sell blu-tac where you are, but it's sort of like the same thing for people residing outside of the great satan.
feasability = the ability to find, discern, devise a way. your kit might not look as "tight" as some ponce who can afford a personal collection of every size fastener in the universe, but the pride of whanging it together with a bit of bent paperclip so you can stop fussing about what the bugger looks like and start concerning yourself with utilisation is like really nice.
i'm always reading stuff like "no screws in this package" or "no prop fasteners included" from people assembling quads. and i can kind of sympathise with that. i kind of figure, if i worked in a factory putting little bits of things in boxes all day i'd probably muck one up every now and then as well.
be at peace. surely starbucks or someone has some expensive plastic straws with little pictures by heironymous bosch on them that would make excellent standoffs if you can find one somebody left on a table. eyes and mind open you'll find something.

Even more trouble has come.... The PDB I ordered (for OSD) doesn't even fit underneath the FC at all...
Also there are no schematics or manuals for it and I can't see what 12V, 5V, gnd, VTX pins are because they are very vague...
I hate this already

Would be nice to know what 12V and 5V is or I'll fry stuff.
So far:
- Returning the PDB
- Returning the X6B receiver, it won't fit
- Ordered spare parts/screws so that the FC will be properly mounted
I won't be having OSD because there's no room for an OSD module, and I have no idea which other PDB outputs OSD. How am I supposed to know my battery voltage? Also, the new receiver won't have telemetry. Can I hear the buzzer from far out?

I just soldered the ESCs to the motors. Noticed that 2/4 were good, but the 3rd and 4th soldering didn't stick to the ESC pad. Somehow it kept releasing. Anyone knows how/why? Using 60/40 solder.

not an expert, but if it's not sticking ... well, i'm inclined to think, 60/40 what/what..
but in terms of being helpful, you could try washing the points with some isopropyl alcohol, they could have some grease or muck on them (this is advice you will read elsewhere).
i've done what you're doing a lot, and i've also soldered where it went wonderfully. for microelectronics, its probably not the size of your iron, but the right kinds of solder.

Tried that. Doesn't work. People suggested "tinning" the soldering iron, but when I put solder on it, it just falls off.
I'm really annoyed by that soldering iron, it doesn't even heat stuff and somehow I have to use the bottom of it to heat stuff, the dot/tip doesn't even melt the solder.
Because of this I managed to get this:

I don't have all that stuff. I tried desoldering it but some of it remains.
My multimeter doesn't beep when I connect the two probes, I suppose it's fine?

I did. My solder falls off the soldering iron and it causes a lot of trouble. I can't even tin the iron because the solder falls off. Trying to solder wires together, but it's impossible.
I know how it works, I've done it before and I've seen tons of videos. Why does it not work? I don't think I'm doing anything wrong, you tin two wires and then melt them together.
